Installing 2.2 on win 7 64 bit

Hi there i recently got win 7 64 bit thru my school(legit throught microsoft student free software program) and i can install 2.2 .exe any advise, thanks ekalbs....

if no compatibility can be found, as much as i hate to ask this, can the devs re-compile as a .msi, i do not have any compiling knowledge yet thus i have no idea how difficult this may be, this could be a big help to all our 64bit users, i know it will not be easy but i figure ill ask and take the heat from the community.....

i tested my bf2 pirates .exe and it works.....it just seems to be fh2 .exe any sugestions.... why has this not been brought up?

afaik FH 2.2 works fine with win7 (even 64bit i think)

do you run it with admin rights and win xp sp2 compatibility mode ?

also it seems important that bf2/fh2 is not installed in the windows partition of your system.

I just opened the exe and popped it in C:\games\battlefield 2, no problems. Except that it keeps whining about failing to move fh2 to bf2 & bf2 to fh2 but it doesn't hurt gameplay. But I have the exact same setup on my laptop which also has win 7 ultimate 64bit and it doesn't have this problem.

Never touch vBF2 anyway so if that's borked I don't care at all.

could you plz describe your complete setup (i guess hardware is secondary when it comes to installing)
you got windows 7 64 bit
and the rest ?
where did you install BF2, same partition as windows ?
any special programms running ?


imo the fh2.2 installers should be completely uneffected by 32/64bit systems.

however if the problem persists somewhere out there sure is a simple already unpacked version of them game that you can download and then jsut move to the mods folder of BF2.

I have only win7 64 bit, same comuter that use to run fh2 since 2.0 and .7, infact it is the same installer i used. bf2 installed flawlessly (never played vanilla) , bf pirates 2 .exe installed flawlessly aswell, it is only fh2 2.2 i am donwloading again to see if my old one got corrupted while transfer from vista(32) to usb to win 7(64).

I have Win 7 64bit, BF2 in stalled in program files(x86) and everything is working, just needed to run as administrator, sometimes i have no ground [blue/water ground] but i just delete cache and everything is fine.

When you install BF2 it says that game was only tested on 32bit wersion or other operating system sth like this. You just press ok and everything is ok.

no my problem is installing 2.2 not bf2 that works fine, i redownloaded and get the same error message wtf.... does anyone else have this problem.

if you still got another machine around just "install"  fh2 somewhere else, and the copy(with usb stick, dvd, or whatever) the install folder (battlefield2/mods/fh2) and the fh2.exe + the other fh2 stuff from the bf2-root folder to the new PC with windows 7. FH2 doesnt do any registry entries so you can just copy the files into the folders and done.

Or boot WIN7 in safe mode and then install the game.

Okay got a working download but a new problem has arisen, my bf2 wont patch to 1.5 it says its already installed but it is not.

You need to patch 1.41 first. The installer for BF1.5 uses the wrong message in that case.
