M51 Quad AA innefective against planes?

Last time in Sidi Bou Sid I realize that M51 AA gun does a minimal damage to planes. I shoot to a BF109 for a while 3 times (crosshair shows damage) but the plane seems to healthy.

Can be a bug? Or M51 is a harmless weapon?

Since it only fires a .50 calibre MG bullet, a lot will depend on where you hit the plane. Historically, a bullet from a .50 would go through the DB605 engine like a hot knife through butter, and still keep on trucking.
If you hit the offending plane in the wings, and not in the fuselage, it will take more rounds to kill it.

Technically that should be effective aswel as the API rounds are quite effective against dem fuel tanks

If you mean last official patch, then it wasn't Ts, see my post about it on internal forum. It seem that. .50 cal was buffed, but change didn't cover dual and quad AA variants which make few times less damage than single HMG.

Dual and quad qas buffed 3x in damage against plane armor only. But its quite obvious that we need to further adress this. All 50 cal bullets will be tested and overhauled for next version. Thanks for the feedback.
