First I want to thank you guys for the 2.50 release, really great and keep it going! I've been waiting a long time that update..  (I played for about four hours yesterday and the time went fast.. Too fast) :D

But I was thinking, this GREAT Sammatus needs more tickets.. :)

Went about 13min when match was over.

This map is awesome. Made a new best roundscore, a gold star in the first match on the map in 48 minutes :)

russians need a mortar for more smoke since its very hard to flank flags and many open fields

The key is attack West flag by good squad with smokes while rest of team pushing (with no chance) east flag and right border of map. Anyway its risky trick and the thing which can actually help - add mortars for soviet with smoke shells only (for balance). And teamplay of course  ;)

The usual case of Tobruk syndrome I'd say. Let's not draw any hasty conclusions just yet, even thought very observant first impressions are extremely healthy.

am I the only one to find the houses a bit... too bright? they seem to glow in contrast to the rest of the map.

Yeah, this is definitely the new Tobruk, or Hurgten, or Omaha of this release ;-) Gonna take a while to get used to for everyone. I know I already cursed it to death just now as an attacking Russian. I mean, who forgets to bring arty to an invasion?! ;-)

Suomi KP is so ridiculously good, that I wonder if it directly causes imbalance to finnish favour. If russians get to first flag through open field with no arty and poor tank support, they just get whooped out by finns with smg's.

I'd say in the bigger picture for gameplay reasons the Suomi might have to be slightly more OP compared to the russian smg's because equipment wise the finns are going to be in a worse situation. While this doesnt apply exactly to Sammatus as the russians havent got such a massive tank advantage but for future maps it could be a problem. I dont know if it was intentional or not. I'd personally would make the finnish handheld weapons just tiny bit better than the russian ones just to balance out the fact that finns will most of the time fight as infantry, so to me it makes at least some sense if they got a bit of an edge in that area.

Also, finnish bias.

Sammatus might need some adjustments but I'd give it a bit more time before making any conclusions. Tobruk syndrome is a normal case that happens to many of the maps after they have been released.

2.52 changelog for Sammatus 64

- Add second T34/76 for the Russians
- Add Schreck pickup kit in Finnish main
- The Russians get a pickup mortar (as suggested by Berkolok http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=20612.msg344494#msg344494 ) and two antitank rifles (for the apc)
- Increase overall tickets (as suggested by Penaa http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=20612.msg344380#msg344380 )

I found the secret. If you just hold the center flag, the Russians can't take the other two flags and have ticket bleed. The Finns are just holding one instead of three flags with the same result.

I found some boxes without collision at Sammatus today (see attachment). It's not a big deal but you can partially hide yourself in them while shooting at the enemy.
