I use to have both, cats are pretty boring, but they are there when you need to stroke some plushies.
And everyone needs to stroke some plushies!

Like oddball said, I really like dogs. Smaller cute ones, as long as I don't have to take care of them. and as long as they belong to a friend or someone I know. Otherwise, I DO NOT TRUST THEM. I'm scared of medium to large sized stranger dogs, having been attacked 3 times, bitten in the arm once.
Once a dog jumped at me, showing it's teeth and growling. lcukily, this time it was on a leash and the owner (a drunk) managed to stop it. otherwise it were jumping up high to bite my neck/shoulder.

I think I have enough reason to dislike dogs.

I do admire the loyalty of a dog, it can be incredible, and no; cats have no loyalty at all and only wants you for food.
But still, they are adorable and great.

Cat's do not have to be pampered like a little baby.

dogs can be dangerous aswel.

once, the (you know, the thing you use to walk your dog with) rope broke, and i saw my 2 huskies jump into a chicken farm barn..
10 minutes...and 80 dead chickens later......

I cannot count the many times i saw dangerous dogs on the loose, or even attacked people. We where once cycling, and this asshole was walking in the forest with his Rottweiler NOT on a fucking chain. Everywhere their is the sign=Dogs on chains plx
That SB2C dog chased us for 5 miles and bited in one of the guys their leg, we managed to cycle away, untill one of my mates had it. He stepped off his bike, took a metal pole and smashed it right on its head. Dead.

Then the owner comes shouting=ANIMAL ABUSE. We immediatly called the cops, and he only recieved a penalty of 500 euro.

If you want to keep dogs.Fine. i also had them. And pick whatever race you have

BUT PUT THEM ON A FUCKING CHAIN, AND MAKE SURE THEY DONT ESCAPE.Please!
Many dogowners do this, but the one's that dont seriously frak things up for the guys who actually put effort in it.

One year ago, 4 Rottweilers escaped in my country, in walloon, they attacked, killed and torned a child in 2.Right in front of the eyes of the mother. Take that as an example when your dog escapes

@Tolga
that dog is epic

@Zeno
Those pictures must be worth money.
-i am fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there would only be one website left and it would be called bring back the porn "Perry cox, Scrubs.

after having been attacked several times (this was in a road-bend 40 meters from my home, where I pass everyday) on a small 30 meter strip of the road (all "attacks" there) I've gotten cautious, now I have even looked up "self-defense against dogs" :P, I imagine I might come home a wee bit drunk in the middle of the night, it's dark and no one is around and a dog comes charging and pounces towards me. I would have no idea what to do.
And no, not impossible. The most agressive of the dogs is often let loose, one time the owner asked me when I apssed "have you seen my dog? he ran away and I can't find him"

I was attacked by neighbor's dog when I was 6 or something... They lived right next to a home full of kids and old ladies and those assholes didn't keep their huge-ass dog on a leash.  During a reunion I was still on my lawn and the dog came over and that 80-pound dog bit my leg.  I still have no feeling where it bit.  I should have sued.

I challenge you, look at this video and say that it is not the cutest thing you've ever seen. You won't be able to do it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiHXASgRTcA&feature=player_embedded#!

I love cats but these are just annoying little whining pests :D Only the ginger one is cute...all silent :D.

Lets not make this thread a bash-dogs thread (too late, a lot of anti-dog stuff here..I know..you might be right, but still, lets give the dog-fans a chance to post nice pictures ).

Me too have been bitten more than once. Back when i was child, i was very scared and hate dogs. The chow-chow i said repeatedly bitten me in the leg, chew my shoes, and that sort of annoying things. Not to mention a lot of neighbouring dogs love to chase and scare us, when we were riding bicycles throughout the suburb.

Then, another story from Doberman Pinscher owned by my grandma, he attacked my mom and bitten her in the face long time ago. My previous neighbour Doberman break loose from its guardian and rampaged my lawn. I hate it when people being not responsible in managing their big pets. Currently, the property is owned by new guy, but still fancying big dogs (doh!). He has a big fcuking Great Dane and yappy Bulldog that when barks it echoes.

Me too have a few downs for large dogs. But ever since i met Milo The German Shepherd (picture on previous post), i am getting better with them. Retrievers and German Shepherds i know are all good but eat like crazy and can cost you damn lot.

My advise to you: never get close with them when they are eating, even the good Milo is quite an arsehole when eating and i'm pretty sure Hachiko (that dog in that movie) was too. That Doberman biting my mom was provoked because my mom went in too close to his comfort zone when he was eating.

Here's my Rudi. Unfortunately we had to give him away a few months ago because my niece developed an allergy towards dogs.

There seems to be a lot of people here who have been bitten by a dog or encountered hostile dogs. I personally don't know anyone who would be afraid of dogs or would have gotten a serious injury from a bite. Pretty weird. Perhaps we just have different raising methods here in Finland.

Or it could be the fact that most of the incidents you people have described include purebred dogs. As far as I know, they seem to have more psychological problems than mixed-breed dogs, which I prefer.

This is my loyal follower, Bobbie. Hes a Fox Terrier and had one hell of a life with it's previous owner, which is why his fur is completely ruined. And he needs to go to see the doggybarber, cause it's quite long right now.

Well Bobbie was adopted by us after he was severly ruined by another guy and later dumped in the woods, his fur is messed up, hes curly like a poodle now.. Hes bisexual, scared of everything making noises and wants to be friends with everyone but if you mess with Bobbie you got big trouble, he is a little fighter. Would take on a Dobermann or 3 anytime.

Hes also pretty smart. Too smart if you ask me, he can fake things. He fakes hes peeing so he can sniff another dogs pee, don't ask me..

This was my dog Pip

Had to put her down the first of march. I burred her in the backyard. My mother still weeps for her every day. We're considering taking a new one, but I'll have to persuade my father first though.
