On Euro evenings theres always 2 servers with 40/50 players. And another 1/2 with around 5/10 players.

Authentic mode? Does that mean that allied soldiers really die in that game?  :P

Hmm... that's my problem with Empire.  I don't want the whole world to be mine!  I just want to be some nice little city state with a pretty lawn and occasionaly have to show invaders who's boss, I only played Empire for a week... there was too much hype and not enough results, it feels too much like a beta-release.

I share some feelings with CPS. I just want a save economic nation with a war once in a while. Although I love playing the game and it is my most played game the past months. With some help from Archimonday I unlocked all the nations and playing as the Italian States, Courland and other states is quite fun, you should try that out CPS.

Go to the E:TW section and have a look at hosted modifications and mod threads. I know that there are multiple realism mods in hosted modifications which make the AI better and everything more expensive harder etc.

Well I understand what you're getting at, absolutely.
But as Fuchs said CPS, perhaps you could try a smaller nation? (that's what I will be doing next, so far I've ONLY tried sweden and great britain).

Don't forget though, that when they release the multiplayer campagin we must try it out!

Try the Italian States, nice location and very challenging. Plus the neighbours all like you alot  :) Your personal goals: unite Italy, economical and with help of diplomacy/war. And ofcourse kick out those Spaniards.

Can you play as Savoy in Empire?

Here's a picture of me playing Savoy in Knights of Honor. I later went on to conquer most of the world, except for my allies of course.

Main reason I like playing as Savoy is because my car has the same name. ;)

I also play Knights of Honor. Always plays as Tuscany, since I LOVE their crossbowmen. Nothing else needed. ;)
Saunas are a passive-aggressive way of killing Russians.

Italian states are an interesting diplomatic territory even as an outsider in EU3.

got bored in this game (EUIII) ... the massive Austrian empire. and yeah my army is massive, the whole French army was destroyed within a year of battles. You see Austria owning Paris after a few wars with France.

probably the most glorious victory of the Red Army (WIF) background : Mother Russia is being invaded in 1941 and suffer a lot of defeats till 1942, where finally the front stabilizes, the Red Army, which being a lot more powerful in 1943, launched a series of counteroffensive on all fronts (north, middle, south) The Gerries are being pushed back, here is one important battle when the Red Army counterattacks... thanks to Hitler's order of "no-retreat" we inflicted a few hundreds of thousands of casualties upon the fascists in a single battle. (as you see their divisions are all down to low strengths)

a screenshot of the offensive

the front in 1942

i am sure that the bloodiness of my game is no less than that of historical.

@Lupin, you can play as Savoy, you just have to manually unlock it. It's not that hard.

Alright, I'll do some research on that.
