Tanaka has always been expensive
I want a Marushin M2 carbine, but I couldn't justify the price for a 30-round mag that only works depending on weather, not to mention the hard to get gas.
I decided to take a picture of my collection, and show it here. Currently, it's missing about 2-3 plastic shit pistols, an M24, and another SVD (Which I'll be giving away to a friend soon).
A little airsoft store opened up in the Antelope Valley (where I am), and I decided to pay a visit. My friends in our airsoft players group could only say good things about the store. I have an D-boys/boyi Sr-25 Mod 0 that has a broken gear box. As a matter of fact, the replacment gearbox is broken too. Upon de-greasing the overly greased replacment gearbox (it was fixable, needed rewiring), I found that:
1. Holy shit china, I can understand your motto on over greasing gearboxes, but use quality grease
and 2. The spring guide was cracked.
A check of the original gearbox told me that, it too, had a cracked spring guide.
"Fuck," I quietly thought to myself.
Now I had a motive to check out the new store, which had opened but a few weeks ago.
After removing both spring guides, I hopped in the truck and away I went.
Upon walking in, I was greeted, and a wall of the finest G&G's caressed my eyes. JG's sang in the background and Classic Armies sang the chorus. The overwhelming smell of freshly opened airsoft gun boxes and a pile of MRE's graced the corner of the room, with MOLLE gear holding me close. The KWA's and WE
s beckoned me to them, from under their glass enclosures, whispering sweet fantasies to me if I bought them.
I approached the cashier after a pack of infidel's left the store, asking if she happened to have a spring guide for a version 2 gearbox. She got a glazed look in her eyes, I could see flashsbacks to 'nam. Deep cogs within her mind speeding along. She didn't, but could order one. Turned out, she was co-manager with her husband who works at Edwards AFB. She doesn't know much about airsoft guns, but would be happy to have her husband order me one.
The place turned out to be really cool, and she was nice. Stepdad told me since I hadn't gotten anything from him/mum for my birthday, I could get whatever I wanted in the store. After giving her one of the broken spring guides, I looked at all she had, and decided to pick a gun when I come pick the gun and the part up next week. I just can't decide what I want! She also had a claymore ffs, so much want.
After buying the spring M3 greasegun there for $15 (it's actually pretty nifty, I like it) and the MRE for $5, we talked for a bit and told her the local airsofting group I was representing was incredibly excited and happy to have a local airsoft dealer. She gave me 2 $25 passes into the local paintball field, which ironically enough, has had to implement airsoft days due to the surge in airsoft players and the gradual dying out of paintball.
As per Operation Eastwind, I'm gonna be picking up a CYMA .048M for christmas.
Gonna replace the piston (and parts), re-shim, get stainless steel gears, and a precision barrel.
Oughta screw someones day up
I also asked for some parts for my AGM M16A1-VN, gonna turn er into an angel from which to rain down plastic death upon
