Russian weapons are awesome ! And they sound good too !
I like the MG42 animation, look less robotic, and I like the MP40 folding stock animation too.

Like the new BAR animation, and the effects of bullets hitting walls and the ground is way better! Should really jazz up combat

The mosin looks of less quality, or is it because of the colors or because it is wip ???.

Have to agree with you there. Dimensions all seemed screwed up somehow.
Bolt looks so fat while rifle looks so skinny. And colours aren't too impressive.

Might be WIP, but dimensions still feel weird. It actually beats the Italian rifles as the ugliest looking rifle ingame.

The model quality yes, but I have the feeling that at least the SVT40 si scaled wrong, it looks really small in the player model hands.

IMO, it seems pretty skinny and the color doesn't give you the impression of a wooden weapon like the other guns, nor does the metal parts feel like the metal of say, the STG44. And so the bolt seems thrown together rather than realistic. I know the person is aiming down the sites, but it comes across as looking from behind a narrow pole.

Its a matter of opinion really.

For me the Mosin Nagant reload should be slower, as the shitty corrosive ammo sticks the bolt a lot.

Luckily it is actually a real soldier using the gun, not you.

I have to agree. Those models look very bad in comparison to the other handheld weapons.

But great job with the animations chad509.

I just think that compared to the Mauser K98K reload is faster, as fast as the Lee Enfield or a little bit quicker and the Mosin Nagant action should be less fast.

It's hard to have an idea of the quality of the Mosin Nagant on a youtube video. I wait to see it ingame or in a render.

I mean, that the MP44 is the predecessor to the AK47,
Has been widely accepted that this is Not the case.
Russia had been experimenting with assault rifles in the 1910 already (Italy already in 1905) and russia developed an intermediate cartigde before WW2. They also had several good prototypes but because of the start of WW2, Stalin felt it was impossibru to introduce a complete new standard cartidge. And Full auto prototypes already existed before The MKB 42 series. The one i talk about is the 7.62x41mm cartridge developed by Elisarov and Semin in 1942.

Mikhail kalasnikov had many good prototypes aswel but he felt it could be cheaper and better.

He based the locking lugs and trigger of the M1A1carbine/M1 garand(Based, not copied). The safety mechanism of the remington model 8

And he based the layout somewhat on the Mp44. And a few parts of the gas system where also used, together with other rifle designs.
This eventually became the AK. Any firearm designer will agree with the AK47. Why reinvent the wheel?
Quote
Each designer seems to have his own paths, his own successes and failures. But one thing is clear: before attempting to create something new, it is vital to have a good appreciation of everything that already exists in this field

While Mikhail kalash denied for years that the STG44 had anything to do with AK47, in the last decades he admitted that he used some of its design. Appearntly he was sick of hearing that people call the AK47 an "STG44 Russian copy". You cant blame the man for this.

As the STG44 took other design elements, so did the AK47. So did the FG42, Garand and others.
Very few weapon designs are identical.

The 7.62x39mm M43 issent exactly based on the 7.92x33. Both are completly diffrent designs. But if you would take an identical factory, you make both these rounds of simular quality and put them in simular guns, the 7.62x39 would win against the 7.92x33

In other words=The russians (And mikhail kalashikov) had been experimenting with assault rifles far before the germans. But because of wartime situations they dropped it. Otherwise they would have had it before the germans.
The germans proofed however, by taking a risk, they COULD introduce a new weapon +cartidge in a war. It dint changed the war, but you have to respect that super stubborn mentality.

I always thought wars were the best times for weapon developers, as their products are the most needed then. Also, many other Russian weapons were introduced during the war, so simply stating "they dropped it because of the war" is a tad too simple, imo.
