That wasn't the only fail about that plot... for one thing: why did they make avatars? The natives seemed to know that they were not real smurfs anyway.

Yeah, why did he have to screw it all up, we only needed to smurfberries to power our school.

Seriously tough, welcome to hollywood, where almost all of the movies have a plot like that. Isnt there a starwars thing just like that out there as well? and i am sure many other movies too.

I never finished watching it, I didn't think it was so great.

The 3D CGI was amazing, even ground breaking. But besides that the plot was nothing special. Ive seen much better movies but also much worse. I give it a D-.

CGI on a known story.

congrats! you noticed the oh so subtle undertone that EVERYONE WITH A 3RD GRADE EDUCATION WHO SAW THE MOVIE NOTICED.

I, too noticed the OBVIOUS (i.e. dont be so proud of yourself for noticing something) connection between the manifest destiny policy of various "civilized" nations. but that is the point of the movie. do you think james cameron is so arrogant he thinks we wont notice exactly what he is getting at?

instead of making yourself feel superior by going "OMG ROFLCOPTER!! this is just like this one thing!!" you should instead ask "why is he making this point?" perhaps he is saying that we should stay out of other people's business? or mabey he wanted to make a sobby "we shouldnt have done that" movie without making a western film and explore a new genre?

This movie sucks, even after they have stolen 1300 million of $$ around the world (Including me), the world should sue the creator and studio of the movie.

I haven't seen it, and I refuse to see it.  Its the same old rehashed plotline that I've seen countless times....Its Dances with Wolves set in space....=/  Sure its probably got the amazing CGI effects that everyone is talking about...but that doesn't make it a good movie, that just makes it pretty.  And pretty movies aren't always GOOD movies, its plot and actors that make a movie.
