« on: 06-08-2012, 00:08:19 »
After a year of hurtling through space, our little science-bot will be landing today using some weird rocket contraption.

Basically, it is going to go wrong.  Gotta set your sights low with Mars exploration - 50% success rate.

I can't wait!

Coverage starts at 11:30 EST here:  http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html

I think I am going to fuck about and play some Battlefield and drop a couple cans of classy malt liquor until about an hour before touchdown.

The landing system for this thing is insanely complicated too, due to its large size. All we can do is hope for the best though.

Honestly, I didn't think they were going to succeed such a hair-brained plan, but they did it.

Meh it was worth it.....I remember as a lad my old man working two jobs as craftsman on yachts and as a policeman skipping work just to watch a shuttle launch live in the 80's.  I guess getting drunk as fuck and staying up late is the least I can do.
