We do not share the same political views. We just agree that the people in the video are idiots.
So your little circle-jerk turns out to be just you flapping your flaccid...
Basically, yes
Also, it is indeed a myth that Fascism is an extreme right wing and communism is extreme left wing.... They both follow exactly the same philosophies, the only real difference being the worship of the "people" under communism, and the worship of the "nation" under Fascism. This means that Fascism DOES commonly get placed under right wing, as the further right you go, generally, the more nationalistic it is.
Of course, there is also the common mistake of placing National Socialism (Nazism) under the Fascist banner said. As Mussolini said "National Socialism is just racism." Remember, true Fascism was, and still is, purely shown by the Italian model, in which Jews were actually overrepresented in the organization.
As for Fascist views on liberalism (speaking of classical liberalism, ie, free market, small government, focus on the individual's freedom to do things without government intervention), they actually hated capitalism. Now, that comes as a shock, as many believe Fascism to be a model of capitalist, however it simply was not. Just like under communism, Mussolini privatized industries, threw out the capitalists, and brought incredible government control over business. Hitler, who at least modeled himself a fascist, planned on mass executions of the capitalists after the war, much like Stalin and Lenin committed in the USSR.
Essentially, the reason that the communists and Fascist didn't get along was the same reason that say, Christians and Jews historically have not. They're both recruiting from the same pool, lower class workers, and duly they're both fighting over the same people. As F. A. Hayek said in The Road to Serfdom: "The Fascist, Communist, and Socialist can all recruit the same people, and even recruit from each other, such is the closeness of their ideology. However, they cannot recruit from the liberal, and duly see it their duty to destroy him."
So where do they lie on the governmental scale? Well, if we must include the difference between nationalistic focus and internationalist focus (the people), I like to see it as a big circle, not a line going from left to right. Pure anarcho-capitalism lies at the very top of the circle, being the complete elimination of all government control and establishment. Communism and Fascism lie at the opposite end of the circle, sitting right next to each other, communism on the left, Fascism on the right, and totalitarianism inbetween. Then, Socialistic democracy lies on the left side of the circle, market democracy on the right side, and everything else is basically thrown into the rest of the line, fitting in where they should be.
