PAK FA first flight
« on: 29-01-2010, 08:01:07 »
In fact, on the video pre-flight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp0yd6no7B4

Remember - it's not a final configuration of PAK FA. Engines old, some details not in final configuration etc.

A bastard of Su-27-esque planebase, a glance of F-22A Raptor and a semblance of YF-23 Black Widow.

For my taste (on looks): "Little Russian taste, tons of mixed values. An identity crisis."

For me, "Russian taste" must be something beautifully balanced, like MiG-29s and Su-27s. But this PAK-FA really looks like my imagination of an "uber fighter jet" when playing pseudo-realistic air combat video games.

Wow it actually flys! Thought it was only on the drawing boards.

Looks nice, but something feels wrong with those vertical stabilizers, they seem so tiny :s

F22 looks much better IMO, to me its really ugly the porpotions are all funny.
Su-27 was waaayyyy sexier. Mig 29 is the best looking russian jet though IMO.
