playing as brutii, attacking the last stronghold of macedon, the city of Thessalonica (I think it was).
I won only thanks to my 4 units of archers. They pretty much obliterated the enemy phalanxes before they even reached my infantry. If they would have reached them, I would have lost (they had their flanks protected)
Started a new save with Germania. By now I have eliminated britannia (I had to do it quick before they advance too much, I just hate their archer-chariots, I never know how to counter them).
I was besieged my a incredibly superior british army. But thanks to very clever use of phalanxes I managed to massacre them.
I simply love phalanxes when facing melee chariots, I've never seen any units in RTW with that effectiveness.
