Today we party because it's the day of
Ukonvakka. After the seeds were planted in the fields it was only proper to plant the other seeds elsewhere, and celebrate the previous year's harvest by drinking the corn in the form of beer or vodka, all in the name of the mighty Sky God. Catholic attempts to fudge it by rebranding it St. Walpurgis (who wasn't even martyred) and claims that all that lewdness should be gone because it was only the witches that flew to Brockenberg to cavort with the daemonic did not manage to blemish the purpose of the spring festival in the slightest.
In a sweden plagued by a rise in right-wing extremism, with xenophobes and facsists being normalized and anti-fascists dubbed as left-wing-extremists, it's important that we show them that the majority are not like that.
Why is that thou seest a mote in thy brother's eye but not the beam in thy own eye?
According to statistics, violence, damaging property, terrorism, and other crimes done in the name of left-wing cause across Europe still far outnumber the crimes done in the name of neo-Nazism or other hate crimes ("fascism" is a weasel word nowadays mostly used by the extreme left and Russia to label all their opponents). But hey, two (or preferably much more) wrongs makes one right, isn't it so?
It is not the "fascists" that are responsible for the increasing violence conducted by non-Swedish ethnicities or rise of ethnic outlaw gangs, nor are the "racists" responsible for that certain ethnicities are also in Sweden responsible for a disproportionate amount of certain types of crime, and so far "xenophobes" (unlike some other elements) have failed to create suburbs which are not only
Judenfrei but where it is impossible for emergency services to move in without causing rioting, vandalism, and arsony that lasts for days. But of course (insert minority here) din nuffin wrong, and saying any of the above is a problem (or claiming that such phenomena even exist) is of course "fascism" and "xenophobia" because MUH MULTICULTURALISM.
All people are created equal, so the law should be the same for everyone.
Cultural differences do exist, however (arising from religious, ethnic, or other traditions or the environment where people grew up). Eventually push will come to shove and you will have to determine what values or codes of conduct you simply cannot give up in the name of tolerance.
Seeing a group as innocent victims no matter what, and failing to address both the symptoms and the underlying causes in their failure to adapt to our society, in effect condoning antisocial behaviour, cannot lead to integration or peaceful coexistence of cultures.
Yes, racism and xenophobia do exist. However, they have rarely decreased if the minority ghettoifies and rebels against the surrounding society and are even encouraged to do that, but hey, maybe this time is different?
The definition of an organized state is that the State should have the "monopoly of violence", so it is the duty of the State to oppose people's attempts to use violence as a tool of coercion. By the way, using violence to influence political decisions is one of the hallmarks fascism, so maybe fascism
is a threat to Nordic societies after all, but the the neo-Nazis are only a small part of that.
