When Nikita made his map for Italian campaign of FHT, i adviced him to use "Fais moi mal johnny" from the french writer and singer Boris Vian, because a lot of french troops fought during this battle actually (i d'ont remember the name of this event).

In this song, Vian captured the french atmosphere like no other before him (maybe Edith Piaf...). If you looking for something "french", like djinn said, go looking for this.  ;)

I hope those are copyright free titels. ;)
Since mods can only use self produced tracks.
And the 633 Squadron main title by Ron Goodwin (loading music for Operation Hyacinth) is copyright free? ;) Duration is in the EU 70 years after the author's death - even though using a MIDI/tracker/whatever arrangement and self-sung vocals would get you around the performer's rights - and Goodwin died in 2003.

Seriously, I would like to hear "Panzern rollen in Afrika vor" promoted from a radio tune to a loading tune of a map. Plus, German version of "Lili Marleen" (also still copyrighted) would also be very welcome.

In the 2.2 and beyond, "Watch am Rhein" (free) could be interesting. Or "When Johnny Comes Marching Home", or any of John Philip Sousa's marches (also free).

Yes, I know that Pacific might never be done at all, but if it is, then I vocally demand "The Ballad of Rodger Young" (still copyrighted, but see above) - "The Marines' Hymn" and "Semper Fidelis" would be too obvious to even suggest :P

Even though movie soundtracks might be tempting, they do have the copyright problem, plus they would feel kind of "used".

A question to the devs: we have now Lawrence of Arabia, El Cid, Es war ein Edelweiss, "blitz", "french tune" and "1940s version of We'll Meet Again" that are not used as loading music for anything (yet). Are these going to be used in future maps, or will they remain as easter eggs?

BWAHAHAHA!
I own a copy (CD) of all the Medal of Honor Soundtracks, and the first Call of Duty
speaking of the Call of Duty Soundtrack: Pegasus Bridge ftw!

I only have the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault soundtrack, but anything by Michael Giacchino is pretty much perfect.

I'll have to get around to converting them all for FH2.

Oh! This Elk Hunt song from The Last of The Mohicans always bring me back to FH 0.67!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBpf9dfe1No

It is also in the main menu of XWW2 which is quite weird, since i already associate this intense music with FH. Together with Embi's menu music.

"We'll Meet Again" is the loading music to Operation Luttich.

But it's not the 1940's version, but supposedly a more "recent" version, since there are TWO "We'll Meet Again"s in the common_client.zip: the other is "old_1940s_version_wellmeetagain.ogg", and the other is simply "wellmeetagain.ogg" which is the one referred to in levels/operation_luttich/info/operation_luttich.desc ;)

Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor is especially poignant, for example here, in the climax of the film "Gallipoli".

Well, I don't really agree with my thoughts at the beginning of the thread, it shouldn't be changed, but music should be added. My suggestion:
http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/song/Prelude+From+The+Unaccompanied+Cello+Suite+No+1+In+G+Major+Bwv+1007/427175
and
http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/song/Violin+Concerto+No+3+Straussburg+K+215+3rd+Movement/427169

My suggestion would be La Musica Notturna Delle Strade Di Madrid' No. 6 its classic and it fits the italian army :)

I think the undefeated WW2 theme music is that of Medal of Honor. Michael Giacchino correct? It's the kind of music you'll hear once, and never forget. He's definitely gone into my history book of gaming, and I think for many others as well.

I don't think the rock tracks are very fitting, neither are tunes that belong in another time period (70's/80's etc.) But Michael Giacchino is a great suggestion. I even installed MOHAA the other day - great replay value and I think it's got better physics - with regard to soldiers - than any other game out there. Especially in the very first two titles you could make them dance and squeel by hitting them in the foot or groin. MoH is all about details and realism, and that's what makes it classic. A bit off-topic, but I just had to say it!
