recommended programs for recording youtube?

 As my question states, does anyone have recommended programs that will allow reasonable quality MP3 recording of video's from Youtube.

 My country allows such recordings for personal use, so no laws are broken but I desperately need recommendations so I can build my collection of live musical performances.

 As an aside, I use a program called "cloud downloader" for Soundcloud and I am very impressed with its ease of use, so if anyone can make recommendations along a similar vein I would greatly appreciate it.

 I don't necessarily rely on internet search alone so I tend to prefer abiding by the suggestion of people that I can count upon.

 Some of my search results have popped up with programs that record as it plays but as my previous post stated, I like being able to download without the hassle of having to download the whole bloody program.

ok,

 youtube to mp3 as Flippy suggested has a limit of 20 minutes. Not my cup of tea for longer videos obviously but I will consider it down the road.

edit: video2mp3 only seems to download the first song,  not the entire set. (don't know how that works???)

It can download without limit, MP3 (64k, 128k), mp4 vids (any resolution the vid is in) m4a

 update:  dvdvideosoft kept giving me an error 403 and,
 video2mp3.net was spamming me with ads for free cam's of naked women

but,

http://www.vidtomp3.com/ is currently giving me 316kbps in very high fidelity.
 (virus scan turned up nothing so I believe I have found the right fit, for now)

I doubt that you can convert a .flv file to a quality .mp3. Quality will increase a bit if you use the .mp4 and extract the audio track.
The general problem is, that youtube modifies the files when they're being uploaded. The bass is being reduced while the middle frequencies are being increased. You won't note it when you play it back with an appropriate player on your PC. But if you simply convert the file after downloading and play it back on a conventional stereo, the result will be horrible.

So IMHO the modifications made by youtube cannot be properly reverted without accepting quality loss.

If what you aim for is only the audio stream of videos I would recommend "Mp3 Rocket", just paste the video's URL in the program and it will strip the audio of the video in the folder you want.

This program or well, better bundle of programs is the best there is. I have used it for years now to great effect.
