When you receive a target (only one target), and it shows only sand. Give it a second or two and then from the Command menu (voice menu) choose "Next Target" or "Previous Target" in order to "refresh" the one target you have. It might then show you something that the forward observer really meant to target, but you were too quick and looked at the target before the "invisible bullet" hit its destination.

If you have many targets, just scroll around Next and Previous targets from your voice command menu.

Always remember to refresh your artillery target view if you have only one target available and it shows empty sand. It can mean two things:

1) Forward Observer who gave you the target doesnt know how to do it right and failed
2) Or you need to refresh the view in order to see what the F.O really wanted to show you.

dont be scared to tell them their spots are dead, often if they are spotting and prone (layed down) the spot is useless, if they are kneeling/standing it's a completly different perspective.  Sometimes the spotter assumes they gave a good spot because in their binocs they could see the target, but they can bee too far passed the target, or too short.

One common example is (Operation Aberdeen) trying to spot the Western village from the center town roofs often results in a completly useless spot of the hillside.

communicate back to your spotter too, - it's annoying to get a great spot for him to change it sporadically.  Let him know it's awesome and his spot will be rewarded with cookie.

It seems that the British are better at coordinating Arty then the germans.

Imo, British artillery in current FH2 is far better then german (Wich was the same on World war 2).

25 pounder has far superior range than the leFH18. LeFH18 has a pitiful range, thus making it quite impotent at giving liable support on far away positions, to which 25 Pounder can in most cases reach without any sort of a problem.

IRL the LeFH18 was used more often in firing over open sights (and thus using a shorter range) than the 25 Pounder, so I think this is rather realistic.

For some reason, whenever I use Artillery, The spot is way behind the target. Any tips to help solve that?

Tell the forward observers to go back to school and actually graduate this time.

Range of the Lefh was 10km so it seems, while the 25 pounder had 13 km range

The 25pounder was also far more common then the Lefh, being more standardised

The gun weight 100 kg less, it had 6-8 RPM while the Lefh had 4-6.

yep, something what the british had good, was field artillery.Cant deny that

Their 2 pounders and early cruiser tanks might suck, but the rest :)

Yup, the Brits seems to have good Weapons, AT Cannons (Exept for the 2 pdr., hehe) Artillery is awesome.

Never tested the 25Pdr as AT, might be awesome.

The arc is too dramatic for direct fire, it's really difficult.  Try it on Alam Halfa 64 at the eastern second line base.  It's one of the best places to practice direct firing it, since it's not a main base.

The main difficulty of the arty in direct fire mode is, when the enemy tank is a bit far, you have to higher your gun and the shield often obstruct you view then. Plus, the tank doesn't stand still.

Also, there is something I'm wondering. Are the AP shots less precise ? I'm often using HE shells against tanks since it seems that AP rounds land a bit too random on the spot. I need four or five shots to have a single hit because a small move to adjust the coordinates makes the shell landing 5-6 meters away...
