What is the purpose of 88mm Time Fuse HE round? And how you use it? How does it work? Does it always blow up at certain distance or does it have some sort of proximity detonator?
I'd rather play Kimble with my ass!

The time fuse ammo is for use against aeroplanes.  I personally am no good with it because I have never got the lead right, but if you can master that, it is a one shot kill to any plane afaik.

it  basicly works like proximity

Some are good with it, some cant even land one shot

BUT does it work exploding on proximity? or it always explodes at the same set distance regardless of the target position?

It explodes on proximity, like we have said.

Lead the plane roughly one plane-length, unless it is coming head on. Hit, kill.

We need to be able, to throw Thermos out of Spotterplanes.

Time Fuse Shell = awesome on Totalize. It's very easy to shoot down incoming British planes with it.

Who says that?

I once even shot down a FW190 with 88 AP ammo!

Time fuse HE are awesome against planes... with some practise you get a hang of how to lead your aim... the bullets are very fast, so no great lead required... its like shooting with the Bofors... just long reload... but one shot kill... and yeah it is great fun to use as most pilots do not expect the 88 to be actually used for AA... but once they know you become target number one...

Planes die horribly even if you score a direct hit with HE ::) Of course, with proximity fuse you don't need a direct hit, which makes hitting them easier. :P

whats scary is
if the enemy plane fly to you and you see it the last 10 secs
and you shot him at point blank in his PLANE ASS FACE and he shoots you and you die and he die
or if you shot and mis and then die ;D

Haha, I was getting quite good with shooting planes down with AT rounds in Totalize, and only recently found out what the timefuse was for. But didn't really know how to use it. Thankx for this thread.  :)

But why is it called timefuse round when it's a proximity round? I tried to use it before but thought it was something like an arty round that had a delayed timer or something. Never had any success with it, so never got into it.
Heard about proximity rounds in a History Channel doc on Kamikaze weapons just last week.
