Hitman: Absolution is the next game in the Hitman franchise. We'll probably see a release in early 2012.
They just released the latest footage showing a playthrough of the Chicago Library map.

As a long-time fan of the Hitman games, I'm looking forward to this one as well. Hopefully, the fact that David Bateson (47's voice actor) and Vivienne McKee (Diana's voice actress) aren't in on the upcoming game won't change it for the worse. Also, Jesper Kyd who made the soundtrack for all earlier games has been replaced by Peter Kyed. I'm also a bit skeptical towards the new 'Instinct'-feature as well as the "tag and kill" mechanism, but luckily we'll get the option to turn that on and off.

So far it looks to be a great game. Any other fans on these forums?

I'm taking my own freedom
puttin' it in my song
singing loud and strong
proving all day long
I'm takin' my freedom
puttin' it in my stroll
I'll be hop-steppin' y'all
lettin' the joy unfold

In Hitman ,as in most stealth action games, the Hunted-hunter relation is always relative ;) .

Yeah definitely looking forward to playing this game .

As far as I've read, every mission will not be like that. Some will be more old-school Hitman.

Big fan of the series, and it's great they made another. Unique series, love the ragdoll.

Kill an airfield full of civilians with your terrorist buddies, the anti-game people (you know, the ones that always lost at Pong and have kids now) cry havoc. Strangle, poison, drown, stab, shoot, what haven't we done!?, a steamboat/hotel/playboy mansion/embassy/casino/Mardi Gras full of guests, in cold blood, alone. Nothing.

Must be because we made them look like accidents :D

In Hitman: Contracts there was an easter egg in the hotel mission in the abandoned/under construction part of the hotel where someone had gotten murdered. You could find a ghost near the room... and strangle it with the fiber wire. :)

Big fan, tried every game of the series I think (loved the movie too, and even went to a Halloween party as #47), but I haven't finished a single one of 'm. I love the concept, but somehow the genre simply isn't my thing. I want to play the game as a proper hitman (as opposed to a running arsenal) but I get stuck and when I then read a walkthrough on how it should be done it simply is too far-out for me. You follow your idea on how it should be done, play out a good part of the level and when you reach the actual kill it doesn't work because you forgot something, or because other far-fetched steps are required.

I guess I just don't 'read' game mechanics very well. I had the same thing years ago with stuff like Indy: Fate Of Atlantis. You know sort of what's expected of you, but when you read what you have to do to solve a certain puzzle I'm always like 'Wtf? Really? I need to combine this sextant with a banana?"

So yeah, I love Hitman, but hate it as well, cuz apparently I can't enjoy it as it's meant to be. I do remember the first one being buggy as hell. Sometimes you fucked up royally but still could make it out of town alive by hiding and kill everyone that came around the corner, eventually they would stop coming and you could walk away.
FH2 is the game, DarklyDreamingDexter is the name.

I think you can play any way you want in Hitman. First time for a mission I really try hard to play it proper. I often don't use the full map legend. So when I do find an extra 'way' I feel rewarded. Good thing I checked the showers, I can use that waiter suit, tray, bottle, etc..

Next time, or after the first walkthrough reads and playthrough, I might take out the entire hotel, boat, etc. But, it is also filled with caricatures and plain fun, Mardi Gras in chicken suits anyone? I do feel they can improve a bit more with each game. But it looks good. Diana had it comin', I bet we can let her go too ;)

And that orphanage looks mighty familiar somehow. Thanks for the heads up.
