A German court ruling has granted Motorola Mobility an injunction against the distribution of Microsoft products in the country, including the Xbox 360 console, Windows 7 software, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player.

So ok WTF?! How are germans going to play fucking video games now?! The german community is huge on video games too, so wtf.

Oh yeah, Windows XP and Vista for the win right? One is old as shit and the other is really crappy.

Hold it with the wtf's cowboy..  the soup does not get eaten as hot as it is served. An American Judge forbade Motorola to force a ban on sales of Windows based product until this whole patent trolling crap has been sorted out, read money will exchange hands.
So it's not banned yet nor do I expect it will be and I am blood serious about this.
If it does Germany will embrace the glory of Torvald  :D

I have a patent on patenting stuff so I am afraid you need to pay me some serious cash, Stefan.

What was that? License to fully authorised deutschebagging?

Sometimes IPR is overrated and turn into bullshit debate. Once they have something, and some douche with money owns part of it (shareholders with no genuine interest but money). They'll be forced to squeeze out money as much as possible from the other guy: either competitors or customers. Capitalism suicides.

Well, not gonna happen i hope. But Germany is fucked up relating such things. We have laws for every shit. And copyright and patents are the highest good in this fucking country.

We are the only fucking country in the world that is not allowed to watch millions of youtube videos due to copyright problems. This is so fucking retarded.

I mean, there is also a trial about this in the US, but of course it is fucking Germany that comes to the decision first, its Germany that instantly knows whats a copyright/patent violation and what not. In the end it is not going to get through, but its a thing of principles to me.

Two companies discussion about patents, no. The discussion is about the cash. Those patents do not fit at all for this technologized world. It was made to save inventions from copying. Today it's just used to attack everyone for stealing "ideas". And then the judge supports the totally retarded commercialized way, of course in Germany, where else.

In the end the costumer suffers from some retarded and greedy companies. Wow, I'm mad.

My dear boy, this is also one of the main reasons why Germany is still a world leader in Technology.
We'd be fucked without that highest good.

Like I said repeatedly.

Entertainment industries are evil, their case of "piracy" shouldn't be much of our concern. They take profits and sell shits to absent-minded people, catering to idiots' market demand. But they don't care about their customers. They are referred as "fans," people who love something and their decision making regarding taste has degenerated into biased preference.

How do they spend the profits? They controlled their celebrity's life, telling them to do stupid things on TV, poisoning people's mind (giving the impression that rich people do shit), contributing to illegal drug industries (I believe their people held more drug parties than any other kind of people), promoting drug abuse (just remember how many artists died from drug abuse). Yet they still seek for more money and accusing all people of "stealing". I say, they don't have any rights to brazenly speak from their "so-morale high ground".

Piracy should be more of concern if the party involved is Microsoft, Google, EA, Activision-Blizzard, Bethesda, or your favourite software developers.  These are companies that spent profits to foster creativity and empowerment. At least, Bill Gates spend most of his money on poor education and cancer research funds. No matter how monopolistic or evil licensing/DLC/money making scheme they are into. I still can respect their way of spending profits (bettering their employees' life, most of them are winners of employer of choice).

For Microsoft that I'm familiar with, at least they are after corporate/money-making pirates or license violators, and chasing less individuals/private users.

Okay, I got to agree that this keeps up the high level of technology. Still it needs fixes as long as it's possible and it still has a giant influence on the costumer. And I was a bit drunk when i wrote this, sorry for the swear words  :-[

You may wonder, but I do not support piracy in general. But the current way is not perfect to me either.

I'll stick to my opinion, that patents in the way they exist today, do not perfectly fit. There are so many accuses out of nowhere for patent infringements. This often has nothing to do with saving ideas, with saving inventions. I personally may be a more liberal person in general, but there is definately a lot of missuse determing the patent law.

You are right about the copyright laws and that they keep up a high level of technological developement in Germany. Thanks for clearing that up, I didn't think about that aspect.
I do not want to abolish or rework patent law. I'd just want that some companies could stop accusing each other for simple things.
Microsoft pays Motorola some nice cash now, so motorola stops accusing them. End of story, no more accuses. I personally do not like the way it works. It is not a recent problem, but in future any kind of (small) fix is needed.
It's okay if you think it's their right, it really isto a certain extend, but I personally see a missuse there.

And against your posssible assumption i do not elect the piracy party and will never do ;)
