Prague uprising
« on: 05-05-2010, 20:05:40 »
on May 5, 1945 (so 65 years ago) began Prague uprising, in the last moments of the war in Europe. The uprising went on until May 8, 1945, ending in a ceasefire the day before the arrival of the Red Army and one day after the Victory in Europe Day.

This must be part. It was a very politically important part of the war.

Contrary to popular belief, It is not Mexico's Independence Day. I believe that is September 15.

Yeh, but it is other part of Prague history-1968

And they won the battle, but they still lost the war.   ::)  Honestly its stupid of the USA to celebrate it, that's like us celebrating ANZAC day or Boxing Day....
