Come on guys this is from Newsweek, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

If it was from something like The Atlantic or The Economist it might be worth paying attention to, but Newsweek never writes anything outside of generic yellow journalism.

Finland really?  Kinda sucks that the USA is lumped in there as a whole country and not by state.  Would be interesting to see it broken down that way.  No place in the world I would rather live in then right here in my home state (and maybe a couple other US states).  If I only had the choice of living in Canada or California I think I would choose Canada though.

Connecticut and Maine. Connecticut is the best one, Maine is nice only in several areas...remoter areas... otherwise it's well..... anyways.. Vermont is nice, too; however they are too liberal and I probably wouldn't fit in too well there. So I shall stay in CT and ME!

Hmmm then you'd have to do that with all federal/united countries. That would add 16 States alone for Germany. 9 in Austria, 8 in Pakistan and just to name another two 21 for Russia or 30 for Mexico on top of the 50 that you guys have. ^^

They say, just to look tough.

Actually I never got stung by any Funnel Web Spiders, although occasionally had one running through my doors.

I've never actually crossed paths with a funnel-web (outside of a zoo), but redbacks are fairly common.

Asides from them and the magpies (birds that get quite territorial in spring), city life in Oz is mostly dangerous critter-free...out in the country or anywhere near the bush is a different story though.
