RO 2 just opened a mapping contest! 30 000 $ in cash and prizes await the best mappers of the modding community there...

http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/counterattack-map-making-competition/

Any good mappers planning to give it a shot? I mean, 10 000 $ and a custom laptop for the first place is a lot more than what you could expect of some other developer companies out there.  ;)
This sentence is intentionally left unfinished...

10,000 $ is quite cheap for a company to outsource the production of a full new map. I'm pretty sure the winners will be only mappers who create a shitload of new content as well for them, including fx, sounds, textures etc....

Smart way to outsource production actually :)

Thats one way of looking at this i suppose...

How long have you and the other devs been creating content for free for a certain other company?

:P

Single player is pretty much multiplayer maps with bots, same as battlefield. You won't miss much.

Just started getting into this game again.  It ran great (except for crashing all the fucking time) the first couple of nights.  Now it is un-playable at like 5FPS.  It is shit right from the minute I load in.  I feel lucky if I can select axis or allied at round start because the cursor jumps around so much.  Google was not much help.  Any ideas?  I had like 20 hours into it way back when and I don't recall any problems.

Stock maps by the way (though I have a couple of custom maps).

New trailer for Rising Storm! The pacific campaign mod, looking very good!

My only hope is that FH2 one day ventures down this path.
