Flaws is quite an understatement.
Being part of what destabilized Libya and Iraq just reminds me why I really have little love for the US in this decade.

It might change, but something's gotta give.
Never mind the CIA-funded coup de Tat that removed the president (my First president) of the very first Independent African nation (mine)  because he was pursuing an agenda of non-alignment and Pan-Africanism independent of both the Soviets and the US... I dunno. I think its just a douche move to destabilize a place because someone does more business with the Reds. Can you blame Nkrumah? When you need an initial boost of help after your colonial masters deliberately pull down the institutions, you're less likely to do business with people who will make you a puppet like the Nixon administration. I read that the Covert US wing actually celebrated after the bloody coup was done like they did after the Afghan-Soviet war. President only escaped with his life because he wasn't in the country.

Makes everything from Nixon to Obama seem bloody dishonest to some of us.
Like I said, the sheer wealth of the US means you can actually afford to be ethical, but your policies continue to be about selfish-self-interest at the expense of hapless nations.

We are just too close to it to see it as bad as nations in the past - But its just as bad. In some ways, worse.

Right, you destroy a nation, get so many people killed, then you build a few schools.
Come on, Economically, no one spends anything in development close to what they'd spend in interfering,
Why would you? You only benefit from helping in International good will. But you benefit much more in the 2nd thing. Good will doesn't fuel tanks, aircraft carriers or feed the burger-chomping populace, does it?

The charity is what the government shows YOU. Otherwise, they'd have another Vietnam on their hands.
Wake up, get out from under the propaganda and smell the gun powder.

Until Blood Diamonds, a good number of Americans actually thought Africa was a country (Even the then President said in a National Address right after 9-11, '... and the country of AFRICA')
and they still need to mention each African country with, 'Africa' afterwards or most of you simply wont get what the hell they are talking about.

And its with that ignorance that the US reaches out and 'touches people' in as ungainly a fashion as a bumbling Giant can muster.

To be fair, its not your fault.
Europe went through a 1000 years of turmoil to reach the maturity they exhibit, and even then, look what they did with colonialism. US some how feels with just 200 years of experience, they can jump in anywhere and 'do the right thing' when much of their decisions have to answer to the avarice of massively over-consuming nation.

How else can you interact with nations except to bully them. Kindness doesn't pay your ever-increasing bill.

I guess it is so because most of the people here don`t know right about the origin/source of the electronic products (Especially those with high technology), so they generalize and say that all this high tech is made and comes from the USA,

lol never heard of this.... but Brazil is such a big and diverse country, its like having 4 or so countries in one, so I think you live in any of the other 3  :P

and there it's easy and cheap to buy everything

Although its not entirely true, US has less taxes on most goods and is home or have a branch of the most significant industries in the world

So in Brazil it is much harder and expensive to buy most goods, especially when you take into account import taxes in excess of 40%

I personally like USA, especially for the aforementioned reasons plus its gun laws  ;D

I live in the US and i do love my country, but we do things i find stupid. 1st are government sticks its nose in others peoples business ( by other peoples i mean other countries).  We also feel the need to help others before are selfs.  We send tons of money, food, and other supplies to other 3rd world countries while are own people could use the help.  I still feel we are a strong country, but we are growing weaker and im glad i was born now and not 60 yrs down the road because im not sure of my countries future.  ???
helping our own poor people? you dirty commie they deserve to suffer, it's their fault they don't have rich white parents!

I, personally dislike the US by all means. I think our government is nothing but the puppet of the US, or rather a forward outpost in the middle east. Also the thing we call "Americanising" affects our people in a horrible way, it makes us strangers to our own culture. People are almost jelaous of the American people, they take the ideals of USA as their lead, they forget what it means to be a real Turkish person, and how we avoided American mandate. I dont know, maybe its just the people around me, the middle-rich class of Turkey. Still, no offence Americans, I dont judge people by who they are.  :)

On another note, on "you know there will be flames" threads like these, I like to read the first 5 responses on page 1, and then the last 5 responses on the last page just to see how much these devolve.

After Bush then the 'Yes, we can say we can' days of Obama, I think people are just looking for another champion of the free world.

albeit I respect their ideals on Humanity, Freedom and the American dream, I feel you guys a blundering kids running around with a shotgun.

Must be my Swahili  ::).... I guess if I had been on the love side, it might have been clearer
