Support lemmy to become a true "heavy metal".

https://www.change.org/p/support-lemmy-tribute-name-newly-discovered-heavy-metal-lemmium

This is a petition to name one of the four officially announced new elements in honor of lemmy.

I suppose this is still a general feels-thread, and not just something happy-thread.

Today I got to experience the consequences of being great friends with your ex.

Last night my best friend, and her, slept together and I feel like absolute shit right now. I just want to leave town and get far away.

I guess I could live with it in some way. We haven't been together for 2 years now and are just great friends. And honestly, she has had boyfriends since then and I couldn't care less about that. Cause they have only been in my peripheral.

Then we were gang out drinking last night. And they are kind of cozy and touchy, but in the way I know they both can behave quite regularly.
He takes me out for a smoke, and says that something might happen. That he feels she is way too touchy towards him, but also that he doesn't know what to do and that he probably won't say no unless I specifically say to him to back off.

I don't. I tell him "I have no idea how I will feel if that happens. You will have to be ready for that"

I then ask her about it in private. she waves it off and says "aw thats sweet of him being concerned. But absolutely nothing is going on."
I tell her that I don't care who she sleeps with, but ask of her to please not sleep with my best friends. She says "no of course not, if that happens i will tell you first".

THEN
her last bus has went home, and she shares a cab with him to sleep over at his place. Even though its way off from her direction and she knows I always have a bed free (sex-free too. just friendly) that is way closer.

I of course understand things are awry then. And get down immidiately.

Couldn't fall asleep. Slept 3 hours.
Been feeling like shit the whole day, the worst day for me in many years. Until I decide to text her and ask. And I get the confirmation.

Only a one time thing, and something that occured due to the alcohol. A drunk-thing.
As if that is supposed to make me feel better.

Anyway. I just wanted to write. I feel so alone today and the first think I did after her confirmation was to check for apartments back at my home town. God I just want to go away.
I see were you are trying to reach: "how can a 17 year old kid have such a thinking like this? why doesnt he wants to be like normal teens who whana get rich? and his plan actually makes sense, but is too damn revolutionary and good at the same time than is still doubthfull if it works..." - Damaso

So, she is touchy towards him, and he realizes and informes you about the potential of the upcoming one-night-stand, which he is not averse towards.

Fortunately your reaction was accepting and not completely threatening.

How generous.

Luckily you talked to her about him realizing her being touchy, thus confirming for her that he is aware about it and thinking about it as he talked to you about it.

Comfortable. If I ever need somebody to make a match between me and somebody else, I'll get back to you.

Honestly: if somebody talks to you about feelings for others in the future, don't tell those others, unless you really want them to match.

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

well it might be a bit more complicated than that. They know eachtother a bit as well through me, he was really drunk and when he's drunk he gets desperate.

but I guess you're right. I might not have acted in the best of ways. Though they would have slept together anyway, even if I didn't say anything (trust me, it's not like I threw them into eachothers arms).

If anything, which is good for me atm when I feel horrible, my anger and disappointment is justified as I voiced them. So I got some leverage, so to speak, there.

I'm in heaven. I've spent since ~2010 with a system that can just about run FH with a few bots and could not even touch PR, esp with any bots in the game. So a few months ago I change to fibre broadband (EE in GB) with the promise of a £120 Amazon voucher. After 3 months they still have not given it to me. But 3 emails later and 2 promises later it finally turns up. Yay ! So now I can afford a modern architecture CPU (its all about Instructions Per Cycle not Ghz these days) and eventually get a second hand Intel i5 4690k for £158, scratch enough together for an Asus z97p MB (£70) and now have a system that is running FH with 96 bots @ 70 - 100fps ! PR is nice and smooth as well with a few less bots (PR is A LOT more graphically intensive than FH, or its scripts or something) at about the same FPS. No more of the dreaded micro-stuttering that was a real immersion breaker for me. I've waited for this for ~ 7 YEARS so feel like I've earned it  8). Happy Bunny  ;D.

I have just bought myself an 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword. It is in sound shape and after some polishing, it might even pass as parade condition even after two world wars. For £90,00 it most certainly was a steal!

Did you see the sword collection in the Weapon Hunter ?

Awesome! No one deserves to play fh2 on old hardware
I have 120bots, 70-100fps on 4.6ghz, but I find singleplayer pretty boring vs multiplayer :-)
I wonder if 5Ghz 3600Mhz ram pc can handle 254bots at 60fps ?

Yes, it's a sort of like a whole new FH for me ... I feel a bit like ...

I'd love to play MP but some health problems prevent me from doing this for the moment. But I've always been fascinated by AI controlled bots in games so that keeps me happy  ;D.

Aren´t those known to go off quite easily - even when the safety is in? Be careful.

I don't think so. Maybe you are thinking of the Japanese Type 94 nambu pistol. The safety is a bit odd but considering its never loaded when at home, and i use proper gunrange rules when shooting it there is little chance something goes wrong.

The safety is something unusual. its putting the hammer to half cock. It locks the slide and trigger if it is like that. There are 2 ways to put it like that. first is simply pull it backward a little bit till you hear a click, the other one is when you are ready to shoot to put your finger on the hammer, pull the trigger, let it move forward a little bit, let go of the trigger and then move it all the way to half cock.

I can make a little video about it i guess if people are interested.
