Do you have any leader of this protest? How do you organise? I wish that people in Poland would go on streets soon...

Anyway, I'm quite shocked to see this in Turkey. I've been there 2 years ago and it seemed that financial crisis avoided this country, everywhere new buildings were growing like mushrooms after rain, people seemed to live on quite high level comparing for example to my country...

The only leader of this movement is the people, no party, no man.

Also, we in the western part of Turkey might be living wealthy, but if you check out the cities in the southeast, like Hakkari, Sirnak, Siirt, Diyarbakir, etc... They are having a hard time because of the ongoing war paralysing daily life.

Anyways, Im quite happy and I wont stop until AKP resigns!

I wonder what happened to these guys:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpABqkOwv1E

Makes me that angry, I would not stop until the driver would be hanging from the next tree. I might regret it afterwards. But not in the moment I'd be doing.

Playing devils advocate here: But you don´t FUCKING HIDE behind a barricade knowing that a truck is coming your way. Looks more to me like the driver didn´t see him and the guy using the water-launcher tried to mark him for the driver to see. Imagine you are behind a grid protecting your window, sit pretty high and can´t see what´s 2 metres directly in front of your truck and there is water-(drops) flying arond everywhere. Last but not least a guy is HIDING only holding a small flagpole - you can´t see him.

The driver stopped after this. I´m not saying the driver acted right, but lynching him for this is totally out of place (if there ever was a place for this). I would rather say it was negligence on his part - he should have driven in there more slowly, but the protester had it coming.

Edit: I didn´t see anything of that protester on the 2nd video.

Box of cheap mask to use against gas: 10 TL

Sack of lemons and boxes of milk to wipe your face with: 15 TL

The expression on the faces of the AKP supporters and hijabis when they see the crowd and Ataturk's face: PRICELESS!

Seriously, you had to see this! They were like trying to hide the panic, trying not to have eye contact with the people... Hahaha, never laughed so hard for 10 years  ;D

Turkish, where do you live? And how is the situation at the moment? German media tells about two possible dead people? But they also told, that police has fallen back from that park, were all started. And I read about a speech from Erdogan, who said something like: When they (the protesters) come with 200.000, I will come with 1.000.000.

I live in Besiktas, Istanbul. Seriously I can smell the gas from the clashes downtown. Istanbul is almost silent, but I hear there are huge clashes in Ankara (the capital) Izmir, Rize (My hometown) and 40 more major cities.

Also, both Turkish and other medias dont show anything. trust me, its much worse than you see. Right now I got a huge bruise on my back and my leg, andmy eyes hurt like fuck. One of my friends at Taksim square topd me they are spraying Agent Orange, a type of poisonous gas that makes you puke after inhaled, which was banned after the Vietnam war, because it caused mutations.

The police is reinforcing Istanbul from the cities around it, and we havent given a moment of reat for them. If he  will bring 1.000.000, all of them -from age 7 to 70- will take a good punch in the face. I seriously have no humanitarian feelings against those motherfuckers.

Good news is that I hear the army shows its presence more by setting up field hospitals in the major cities to help the protesters. Also the police fired gas shells in those hospitals, the army intervined (without firing of course, that would make AKP the right one) and made the police retreat. This is why you prefer to go to the nearest army or gendarme control point if something happens to you in Turkey, they are LITERALLY the only organisation you can trust.

I doubt police used agent orange though. Just checked some links and apparently the rumor started because of the police using orange coloured gas which resulted in the deception it's agent orange while it seems to be more likely it's pepper spray gas or something similar.
Agent Orange ain't fun. Can't imagine they use it against their own population in a situation like this or even generally.

The orange/red liquid was confirmed by several sources to be CS mixed with orange or red paint(different in different areas of the city) to tag protesters for later identification.
It should be clarified that it WAS NOT agent orange, a rumour that spread a lot. agent orange is colourless, named after orange stripes on the barrels it was shipped in.

My friend Mert which was sprayed by the orage gas they used told me what happened: First he started to cry uncontrollably, then  he had a strange feeling which tickled his throat, then he had to get down from the flagpole he was on, he went into an apartment and puked madly...

Thats not agent orange. Agent orange is a defoilant/herbicide wich is sprayed, not gassed

This will be most likely tear gas or another less-lethal crowd control unit
Perhaps powerfull pepperspray?
