Firearm Animation Preview #3
« on: 22-06-2012, 07:06:20 »
Hey all you lovely FH2 fans. I whipped up another little weapon preview video. Now keep in mind these may or may not make the patch as they are still in the testing stage. Hope you guys enjoy!  ;D

Animations look great! :) it's getting harder and harder to wait for this next patch

I don't wanna take anything away from what you're doing because the animations are awesome, but I have one question:

You're logically working on animating the new guns (Russian/ new Thompson etc...) but you also seem to be REdoing animations for a lot of existing guns as well. Ik these are all WIP and I don't wanna jump to anything but is that something you're doing on your own? Or did the devs feel as if Killi's old animations needed to be redone? Just seems a little redundant seeing as I thought the old animations were great too, but that's why I'm asking.

That being said keep 'em comin'! ;D animations are a HUGE part of the immersion aspect of this mod, which imo is its most important quality. Ik it's alota work but maybe eventually the 3rd person animations can all get sorted out too. afaik when someone pulls out a k98 they still "deploy" the non-existent bi-pod in 3rd person (could be wrong tho)

some very smooth animations you've got there, I especially like the Bren's, very natural looking.

Also, has the natural stance of all weapons been changed? More to the centre of the screen that is?

Did the Kar98k really have that smooth of a bolt?

Was I the only one who thought it was a bit quick?
You are bathing in misery and hope, waiting for someone to come and pull the plug.

The new K98 anims are a huge WIP and they most likely wont make the next release, but who knows  :)

Yeah, the K98k is in no way that smooth or fast...it's current iteration in the mod is 100% fine.

Also, the Bren doesn't reload that way (I speak from in person experience with firing and reloading Bren guns).  If you did it that way, the catch would catch the mag the moment you take pressure off it, locking the mag back in place.  The mag has to be removed by putting continual pressure on the release and rolling the magazine forward and out of the mag well, like with an AK47 mag.  The official way to do this is to mash the heel of the palm of your hand up against the mag catch, then roll your palm forward, keeping the heel of the palm holding the catch down and forcing the mag forward and out.

Some look a bit like a drama class teacher is doing it, like the guy is overdoing it with swings and waves. Especially the first Thompson one.

Huh? Did we get a new M1928? Different sights and it looks more grey, rather than black

2.45 will provide new model of M1928 thompson submachine gun as well as some minor tweaks on other weapon models from at least one you can see on this video.
