Talking about strange names, my PhD advisor (who is German) named one of his sons Fabius. He is a Roman historian, so I guess this is where he got the idea... His wife also seems to think it's normal. Is it me? For I have never seen such a name for a German kid.

My name is Fabian, which is also Roman and a friends brother is called Mark Aurel, which is...Roman, too. Roman names aren´t as popular as Scandinavian or English names but they pop up from time to time. Still better than calling your child Kevin or Jacqueline...  ::)
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

Yes, I know about Fabian, but it's the German version, "Germanized" if you prefer, just like Mario is the Italian form of Marius, or Mark the English form of Marcus, Benoît the French form for Benedictus, etc.

My point was just that in this case they retained the original Latin name without altering it.

Congrats Flip! I would do it myself, but I've got to make sure of a few things first.

Must be like getting a new pair of glasses, everything looking good and being able to see what leaves and ants look like  ;D

Most people will be called by the shorter variants of their names, unless your like me, and I address everyone by their last names.

I want to name my next dog Praetorian.

Most folks I know don't call folks by the name of Richard, Dick. Unless we are joking around or somethin'.

I usually just call everybody by the name they introduced themselves with.

I'm actually getting Trig-Precal so far. Nice and easy.

so far...

Except you dont have to clean your glasses all the bloody time. Dont have to search for them, dont have to keep switching between them and sunglasses and last but not least, dont have to buy them!

Suddently like

my exhaust fell under my car
You bought an Opel, now live with the consequences.

Got myself a new pair of eyes yesterday due to laser surgery. Im rather happy now.
Awesome. I want to do this in a few years too. Already got lenses for six years now. Started out with glasses but hated them and it was on school, you know what happens with kids and one gets a pair of glasses.. How expensive was it? I remember a few years ago it was 2,000 euros per eye.

;D ;D
At car safety inspection back then

"Sir i am afraid i have to give this car a red card"
me=Why?
"There is no RUST under this opel! THATS NOT POSSIBLE! AN OPEL WITH NO RUST? But there is a bit damage on your exhaust, you might need to replace that in 5 months

So yeah, the exhaust fell off after 4 months 2 weeks..

Ace! Don't think I could have done that with the most popular bully, that one was like a small gorilla. Not that it was that bad, I wanted lenses anyways. Glasses annoy me so badly, I still got one for private use, just can't get used to it.

There was once a bully who was picking on me because of my hair

He broke my feelings

I broke his nose
