Points for repairing a static weapon.
« on: 26-09-2009, 22:09:24 »
Hello together,
i want to suggest to give engineers one point for a complete repair of a static weapon (e.g. anti-tank guns, mortars, anti-air guns). Maybe one point for two repairs, the main thing is the get s.th..
People spend a lot of time for repairing and they don't get a reward for their work.
Sry for my bad english.

The thing is that you can get points for repair, but only when the gun is manned. Like said before, I think this should be changed. Even an engineer running around at Kidney Ridge, repairing all unmanned PAK38s is doing something useful. So give him points! Maybe give 1 point for repairing MG, 2 for normal gun and 3 for 88. Or if that is too much, make it 0, 1 and 2.

There is the risk of point whoring though by exploiting this: Take anything that can damange a static weapon, make your way to said weapon, destroy it, repair, destroy, repair, destroy, repair.

But other then that, the idea is nice.

That should (theoretically) penalize you for TKing a friendly gun.

Most FH2 server are well administered. The chance that such a player even exist and then not get caught by the FH2 community is smaller then slipping a historical inaccuracy past Von Mudra.

And why would anyone even do that, boring as hell an you wont get any benefit form your score.

Edit: And this was about "point whoring" before anyone misunderstand because he was too lazy to read posts above mine.

Yeah, I too think that destroying-repairing-destroying-repairing is way too boring for people to do. Even if you don't get penalized properly for damaging a friendly gun, those few points you get are a meager reward for a round full of boredom.

Yes, and give points at a higher rate. Make it worth someones effort to risk getting killed to remove enemy tank mines, s-mines etc...Define to role of each solider class and you'll get better organization and teamwork alla PR.

pints for repairing where in, even for unmanned vehicles. but it got under the wheels someone in the last release candidates.
it was a bit over the top, you would get 12 point for repairing a tank from 10% to 100%.

i m sure this will be back in the next version.

Yeah, and give points for removing enemy mines and s-mines. Reward the unselfish player that lays out to get killed to help his team. Perhaps 6 points for removing mines/s-mines and repairing tanks from 10% to 100% would be a fair reward.

Repairing an empty tank should still not be rewarded with points. Tankers get enough points just by killing everything around them   ;)
