Also, it is my feeling that bomber command was referring to the night terror bombings, in which AA from the germans was, obviously, much less dangerous, unless a plane was caught in the spotlight.  Still though, it did kill more brit bombers then the german night fighting force....

Now you mention it, yes, it was about the night bombing campaign (I watch way too many of these, sometimes I confuse 'em), but they mentioned planes being shot down more often by Me 110s than by AA.

Indeed, I know, it's part of my job to be very critical towards sources (any sources). I wasn't saying the documentary I saw was correct, I juts noticed a difference in what you said and what the documentary said. Since I only know you from here and I only know The War File from what I have watched, I should be careful with both of you  ;)

Then bomber command has their heads up their asses, or you've got bad sources.  AA killed almost 3 times the number of planes, in all circumstances, then enemy fighters.

Well, it was a The War File documentary IIRC, and I always assumed they were informed well enough. In your examples, most p[lanes are fighters, though ;)

A good Hürtgenwald map would be cool. Some Bf42 mod had one, I think BG42?

The map Hurtgen Forest was released in fan mappack for BF1942.

AA was the main killer of planes in WW2....=/

In a documentary on bomber command they said AA was usually only to scare off the pilots, as they almost never downed one of the planes in the bomber waves over Germany.

Or did you mean fighter planes?

About opening the hatch on landingcraft: will the driver be able to open it with a BAM? I mean, that when you hit the button for opening, the door slams to the ground instead of opening veeeery sloooowly like in BF42? If it opens real fast, the passengers have a bigger chance for survival. I'd really like to see this implemented, but of course I don't know if it's possible.

I like:

- killmessages, but only my own or my squadmates'
- messages which are meant for immersion: I only noticed yesterday that at some point on Sidi Rezegh, the server tells you that the "Germans have taken control over British reinforcements". I think messages like that are cool and should stay.

I don't like:

- spam in the topleft corner: commander is on duty can go, as can all other killmessages from teammates way too far off (thus leaving only my own and my squadmates').
- same spam in the lower left corner. I'm not stupid, I can read my kill and then move on, I don't need to read it twice.
- killmessage delay. Like others before me have stated, I think this will make things worse while it tries improving things.

In short: I'd keep it as it is, or change it into internal killmessages only, like natty proposed.

but what about all those kubel rush to rear lines? this is sometimes very annoying. Personally i don't see it looked good when you see a bunch of kubels running at top speed towards enemy lines and rush to the rear flags and cap the hell out there.

You're right, maybe make the southern and norhternmost flags sort of pushy? That you can only cap them if you have both ridges? Something like that?

I think it will be less hectic with a pushmode. But I like hectic maps, so a pushmode is not necessary. Most of the times the game plays out very nicely on this one. And I like to start by conquering West Road, so... ;)

my suggestion would be add some push elements to it, the allied must cap at least 1 flag (for example, the outpost, OR the barracks) to reach the inner flags. (hospital , for example).

Maybe a bit like Fall of Tobruk, that allies can choose to go over the left or the right flank.

More kubels/small transport vehicles is nice, but they should be spawning at capped flags. Right now, there's usually only an APC of some sort, I'd like to see more transportation. Also, could the camo net and shield be removed from the 88 in the south? It's the only 88 there and right now it's hard to use as AA.

From the old forums: Please make it so that the Ju is not sliding backwards once one guy enters it. It makes waiting for passengers lethal. A small ramp at the back of the airstrip could already prevent this.

I love it to see there are plans for changing Sidi. It's already oine of my fav maps, but it needs improvement to make it even better, because 1) many people dislike this map because of various reasons, the most important one the fact it is difficult for axis to win and 2) because by adding some AT guns (the PaK at the hangar is great, I want some more  ;)) and some axis armour, the map will be more fun.

I agree with everything which has been posted before, especially with Dukat. If I wasn't so late entering this forum, I'd have posted the same.
