I have to agree on the B&W part, the Germans seem to do all the evil stuff. And they seem to die en masse while the Russians heroically charge with few casualties. You start to wonder how they lost the fortress  ;D

Nonetheless an excellent movie.

Just saw the swedish movie Ondskan for the first time (believe it or not).

Say what you want about Jan Guillou, but that movie was amazing.
I see were you are trying to reach: "how can a 17 year old kid have such a thinking like this? why doesnt he wants to be like normal teens who whana get rich? and his plan actually makes sense, but is too damn revolutionary and good at the same time than is still doubthfull if it works..." - Damaso

watched the "the life before her eyes".
i must admit is HUGE!
what an awesome plot.
the whole movie just messes with your mind to troll you with a superbe end,
leaving you brainfocked and thinking for minutes before you realise how epic it was.
keeps me thinking for days. 4.5 out of 5

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

This movie was the bomb, by far my favourite of the entire Harry Potter series.  Not too much wandering around, it stayed exciting literally the whole movie.  I also went on premiere night, which = crazy people dressed up, which makes all movies better.

The Green Beret.

Its got the Duke in it, so I'm a little biased. Forewarning.

Enjoyed it, good movie about green berets in 'Nam. There was alot I didn't suspect, like 2/3 of the movie not even getting to the main plot, I liked that.

Although I did spot some things wrong in what the actors did, 4.0/5

haha, I have watched like all of those films.  Sometimes I hit up the China Way real late at night because those movies make me want Chinese food so much.

Those movies? 3 of those 5 movies aren't even chinese...  ;)

Watched a bunch of movies lately, so I'll keep it short:

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon **
Well, it's better than the previous Rise Of The Fallen but that doesn't say much. It starts out strong with a cool link with contemporary US history, but the second half is Bay at his worst again. A climax that goes on and on and the sad thing is: the Transformers (and especially the Autobots) are reduced to extra's in their own movie. It simply isn't about them, which is a unforgivable misstep. A possibly awesome franchise ruined by a hack director with too much money.

Get Low ****
Touching little period drama set in 1930's USA, with two of my favorite actors: Robert Duvall and Bill Murray. An old broken down hermit (Duvall) wants to better his life before he dies and decides to hold a funeral party. He's been the outcast of the village he lives in for over 40 years and wants to hear all the stories people have been telling about him. The local undertaker, played by Murray, decides to help him out with the arrangements. But there's a catch.
This really is an actors movie with seemingly not much going on, plotwise. But the charm is in the detail, and it's cool to see Duvall shine so bright this late in his career.

After The Sunrise **1/2
For some reason I've been looking up older Woody Harrelson movies and this was one of 'm. A cool crime caper about a couple of classy thieves (Pierce Brosnan and Selma Hayek, in all her 90's glory :P) who, after pulling off one last heist, retire to some banana republic. They are tracked there by the FBI agent (Harrelson) who was responsible for the loot they stole. What follows is a somewhat predictable, but still twisty and enjoyable cat-n-mouse game. Shame the script/plot wasn't any tighter and that the direction could've done with some more flair, because now it falls half way between trying to hard and being an actual cool movie. The three leads make the most of it and there's a lot to enjoy if you don't mind some plotholes and inconsistencies.

District 9 ****
Rewatched it last week. Really liked it the first time around, but sometimes a movie overwhelms you in the cinema and when watched a second time at home it douses you with disappointment.
But thankfully not this one. Still a really well made sci-fi comedy-drama-adventure that doesn't miss a beat. Michael Bay take note: this is effect-heavy sci-fi done right.
