Machine Gun Preacher?I remember about news of a film about young armed nuns.I guess it was Naked Nuns with Big Guns.

Attila 8/10
Great movie, the beggining looks similar to the Genghis Khan movie, but it doesn't repeat itself like the previou. Also,it greatly depicts the Roman Empire at it's end, both west and a glance at east.I just didn't knew the Huns were european like(?).

The Alamo 8,5/10

Another awesome movie! The only problem I guess is that it's overbiased to portrait the mexicans as blood thirsty followers of a lunatic proto-colonial dictator.Even I started to hate them at the end of the movie!

Saw Iron Sky last night at the Fantastic Film Festival here in Amsterdam.

I thought it was the shit. Way better than I expected. Looked the part, humor was on point, it simply worked. It embraced its nerdy exploitation roots while delivering a solid, original movie that holds a mirror up to overpriced Hollywood blockbusters and says "see, this is how it should be done".

I hadn't had a blast like this in the cinema since Machete and Drive Angry I think, so: *****
FH2 is the game, DarklyDreamingDexter is the name.

The Brest Fortress 2010

What's in a name eh? I thought hey, that's cool, Brest. Different Brest! Great Russian movie about the opening (day)'s of Barbarossa, as the Russians are taken by surprise and try to hold back the invading Germans. Battleground is the border fortress of Brest, which is about to have a rude awakening.

Moving story of which I knew nothing about and a kickass war movie. Men with pistols on the left and shovels on the right included! 8) 8,5/10

The Brest Fortress: 7/10
I just watched it. Drama about the defenders of Brest, scattered in 3 strongpoints defending the fortress. The plot is linked by a young boy, moving between the 3 strongpoints. The story about the boy seems to be inspired by the boy from Enemy at the Gates, where a young boy deals both with the major and Vasili. The movie contains some PIII tanks that actually resembled the original quite well. I wasn't sure whether they were remakes. However, one must have been original as the tracks were very accurate. The germans in this movie are ultra evil and appear to be spawned right out of hell. They have a lot of text compared to Band of Brothers or Saving private Ryan, exceeding in variety. Notably I found not a single grammatical or spelling pronunciation error. Finally I have to mention that this movie contains more bodies than there are bodies in all zombie movies ever filmed. Very bloody.

21 Jump Street
By Phil Lord and Chris Miller
Starring Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cuba, plus cameo by Johnny Depp

The movie is about 2 guys (loser geek and jock bullies) trying to get along. From high school to police academy, this guy finally worked their differences together only to be assigned as undercover agent back to their former high school. They joined this special division called "Jump Street," which mission is to get undercover in high schools to solve crimes. Both have to act as brothers and stay in Schmidt's house. When they returned to the high school, things have changed, it is no more geeks losers vs cool bullies, but cool liberals vs loser nerds. They both having hard time to cope with changing mindsets. The geek Schmidt (Hill) eventually join in the liberals, becoming the cool kids, and majoring in drama class. The bully Jenko (Tatum) join the nerds and majoring in chemistry. Both having a hard time, but eventually succeeded in finding their place there. Their mission: infiltrate the ring and find the supplier. In their way to solve the case,

The movie is pretty entertaining and quite a laughfest with numerous cultural references that many FHers seems to love (Liberals and Nerds). The movie has quite a high degree of profanity, I lost count how many F-bombs are thrown and "sucking dick"  or fellatio stuffs being used casually. Realism is portrayed in theoretical way in this movie as to show Jenko the bully's learning process in his chemistry class.

Overall I give it 7/10, it is another entertaining movie, but not that memorable or great to certain degree. And they use too much slapstick to incite laughter. But you'll LOL anyway.

The movie is more or less like the trailer, but longer. Also, it has more tits, ass, alcohol, drugs, fire and riot police. Fuckin' awesome shit.

Next stop, The Avengers and Iron Sky!

Iron Sky was pretty great. 7.5 is my personal score. I think it's the kind of movie that you have to get on DVD and watch several times to notice and appreciate all the jokes. Things like register numbers that say "Q-N4751" (kuu-natsi [lit. moon nazi]) don't immediately spring to mind.

The Avengers would be my next choice of cinema experience as well.

Classic, brilliant, really made the zombie genre. 9.5/10

Dawn of the dead (Remake)
The old one had a better "'feeling" but i have to say i Really like the Remake. Action, survival all in well balanced quantities. A well deserved 8.5/10

Project X
- Perfect movie to watch if you want to get pumped for a party. Kinda like Superbad where you have three outcasts of the high school hierarchy trying to achieve something greater that will earn them respect and popularity and of course, girls!

I really liked it, nothing special but still surely worth the time spent. Some good laughs, some intrigues and lots of beautiful women and awesome party music (Heads will roll,Yeah Yeah Yeahs/A-trak!).

7 out of 10

Lockout

Just went to "Sneak Preview" this evening and watched Lockout. Sneak is always some gamble but you pay less money and watch a cool movie a few weeks before release (in Germany) if you are lucky.

Lockout is something like a futuristic Action-Thriller. Im too lazy to tell you about the whole setting, just watch the trailer, if you are interested please

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmAbEgayExs

On the bright side, Guy Pierce plays his character really well. The characters name is Snow, a victim of a crime he was not responsible for. He does very well at dropping cool dictums and is just a symbolically cool, muscle-packed, hard guy, that gives a shit about the world. His jokes are usually cheap but still made me laugh. When he talks it's 90 % sarcasm.
Snows job is to rescue the presidents daughter (as always) This time from a prison in the orbit that girl just visited.

Well, flat story, every room looks like the same on this space station. Overall a lack of diversity. I got to add that an actor plays an evil psycho very well and in a funny way.

As I said, the story pretty much sucks. The main charakter and some others are awesome, they simply did not make too much out of that. The movie has a lot of funny moments though and entertained me in the end quite well. Remember I watched it in Sneak Preview. You are quite happy, if you don't have to watch some romance bullshit and get this instead.

You can go to the cinema and watch it if you like, but there are probably better movies out there.
The end is a little of a cliffhanger though, maybe the sequel will be better.

7/10
Probably a little bit worse, but 6,5 looks like a bad movie, which it is not :P Just a regular, funny movie to watch, give it a try if you are bored.

The Avengers (2012)

Saw it last night in 3D. A great action ride. It looked great (although the 3D was completely pointless) Had some laughs. Every character gets a little background story which makes the movie a bitt long but its okay. Scarlett Johansson walks around in tight clothing.

7/10
The Moon is opposing Jupiter. Don't get involved, it's their problem.
