Commonly, being "understandable" is not equal to being "good". Because of slight homophonic pronounciation in "they're" and "their", you might be considered as "good" enough on conversation. My Vietnamese friend is allowed to work in Wendy's despite her English being far more difficult to understand than the spoken English of a typical outback fair dinkum Aussie bloke.
