Normandy landings
« on: 30-12-2009, 22:12:47 »
Normandy landind maps are in construction, right?
I was thinking that the Allies could use DUKW amphibius vehicles instead of the bedford or GMC.
I was just watching some documentary video in witch they explaned that they had to use DUKWs instead of trucks because they had to transport supplies directly from the LCTs to the beaches.

Or are the devs already working on it?   ???

There is no landing map on the test server atm, so probably no.

Normandy beach is one of the top secret operations of the devs led by Sturmfurer Hanz Lobo of the extraordinary research division

I don't think you should expect a direct answer to that... Expect alot of span, followed by a sudden lock

Well, Kasserine, not unlike Omaha for instance, requires quite a bit to have it in...

New American skins for instance.. A reskinned, rebalanced P51 for the Apache airplane.

I'm sure with the kind of detail the devs want for FH2, they wont want to release a beach landing without naval vessels unless the engine proves it otherwise impossible.. and as far as we fans know the DUKW isn't it..another neccesary vehicle...Or the big beach guns...

So all we really have is a couple of trench and bunker statics, hedgehogs, mg42s and mortars, no skin for the Rangers who landed, but that's not a big deal, we still don't have Paratroopers... and landing crafts...

Might not want to rush that into production.. Unless the devs aren't telling us something ...

Unfortunetly, the DUKWs were only used to transport supplies and infantry guns to the beaches after the first waves had already been on ground for a long time.  Considering any beach map would be representing the first wave, not the 7th or 8th, and that the DUKWs mostly sank before making it to shore, its not really a needed piece....

i actually rode in a DUKW once, and even got to steer the thing. though i'm surprised that a tour guide would let a 6-year-old drive an antique amphibious transport being used as a tourist transport
