I wonder if the spawnable for fausts on maps outnumber the AT spawnable.
With only one shot that sometimes won't kill a Sherman (the 76 needs 2 shots in the first place), and a stellar 23m range, it is quite a vulnerable kit, even with a rifle.
Allied AT still have the possibility to engage infantry at medium range with their AT weapon and still have another to kill an Axis tank. Plus the pistol can work at shorter ranges. Try using your faust as a grenade...of course at that short of range you need to hope your opponent has a bolt action rifle, too.
Also, fausters are going up against semi-auto rifles from the Americans, or bigger and a bit faster No.4s from the Brits/Canuks. While ATers are supposed to have a disadvantage against infantry, only one shot to take down a tank and doing so from breathing distance is disadvantage enough.
When working with 30mers, I think there should be 2. Once the 60m and 100m fausts come along, things get more balanced with range issues vs. personal weapon.
Another note: replace the rifle with a pistol and notice the huge range and ammo quantity disadvantage the faust kit gets. Solving the ammo crisis still leaves you with a severely short range. The rifle can tip the scales toward the faust, so then the only thing left is subtract faust ammo. 3 is too much, 1 is debated at being too little.
The only other solution I can see to make the fausters happy is to increase the amount of ammo boxes. A flag without an ammo box means the faust reload costs a ticket.
