At first i have to thank Flippy and Irish for the first 2 kickstart sessions ;D
I hope with this event we can bring together our regular player ( i mean the old one ) back to our server.
Naturally all of the FH2 community player are welcome and maybe this is the start of a community fightnight at monday. The week is hard enough and monday is the worst workday ;D

With the upcoming patch the number of players will increase and hopefully this event and the patch will relaunch hslan and make it rdy for 2.4 :P

The best way to keep the server populated is to have an admin there at all times. Switching maps to 16p and 32p depending on playernumbers can be a life savior.

I played a few rounds, that server missed me a lot, it's finally up again !
The only thing that I always hate in that server and stills, it's that most good player always switch to german team, and then allieds get raped every rounds...

I was on hslan around 2 hrs ago.
I went for a tinkle* and when I came back my game had ctd.
Tried logging in again just now, I get : " You have failed to connect. Please check your network connection(s) and try again.
It Eventually logs in, then the FH2 movie is missing, I can move the cursor but get no response from the menu tabs.
Then I tried BF2, same there, although I could start a singleplayer game, there was no multiplayer servers.
Are the servers down or is it my game fecked up? :-\

Lebisey, Port en bessin, point du hoc, purple heart lane ( 3,5 infantry maps ) and then sidi ?!
great maps for sure, but some tank map in between the inf maps would be nicer,

Played a really good round of Cobra yesterday on HSLAN. The Axis put up a good fight for most of the map but once they lost the airfield it was all over but the crying.

It was nice. I played only throught three maps and two of them only partially and during the middle one (Goodwood) I got disconnected, so I think I played 2,83 maps tonight ;) Won all, btw :) Good gaming!

I liked it... We had some fun on PdH, Goodwod was meh... Cobra was nice but I've seen better Axis defenses...

Well it was getting a bit late... and it's Monday, people have to work tomorrow. Besides el Al was still funny even with just a handful of people (dogfights above the hot African sand FTW! ;))

I was going to play for more than I did, but the lack of communication and sides that stay the same throughout the game just bummed me out. I admit Im pro-Axis in FH2 and I was hoping to play a round or two as Axis, but as the teams were not being auto-switched in every map, I was stuck as Allied. Knoffhoff was being a good SL and our squad was good all around, but the lack of communications within the squad and the entire team made me think I was playing on 762.
But I hope the event was a success for hslan and everyone who participated had very enjoyable time. I definitely try to be there during the week as long as theres players (hopefully so).

HSLAN may be for Euros but, seriously, someone should be working on keeping the American audience going.

It's not a new server, it's a good old one that saw all its players squeezed a few months ago because of the goddam 128 players server. :)

This was posted on yet another kickstart thread, so i pulled it to post here hoping someone will take it seriously........
My opinion is that in order to populate HSLAN on a consistant basis, there should be some sort of weekly event promotion.
FHT and WAW have to huge long drawn out battles, why not offer a smaller alternative.
For example: Set up an event that follows the maps historically, say Mon - Wed, Normandy Event.
* Play 1 or 2 maps per night with high ticket counts. Have hslan members split up evenly on both teams to keep it even and everyone else just join and pick sides.
* Create a minimap of the battle area to follow the progress until the end of the event.
* Also, maybe setup an event TS server to get everyone in channel
* You can even off awards on the website for best squads, most objectives, leaderboard ect....
This proposal will also address the mapcycle complaints.

Infantry map followed by a tank map, Africa after normandy.
We just had Gazala with 64 ppl now Villers with 38...
Maps that are population killers imo, and espessially in the night: Sidi, El Al, Alma Halfa, maybe Tunis, Ancton , Villers other africa maps.
You should set a couple of really populated maps behind each other, so an admin can start with the first one and then you have several good maps for the late night and people wont leave.
Like St lo, Totalize, Lüttich, Goodwood.
Good maps for starting the server could be Falaise, Lüttich, Lebisey, they are nice, and not too big for a smaller amount of players.

Like Irish says, there is nothing more killing to the playercount if you've got 50pp on and Gazala, Cobra or Villers is the next map.
St. Lo, Luttich, Falaise, Lebisey, FoT and such maps got a good mix of infantry and tanks while not completely killing all the fun with 30-40 players.

Villers just needs some changes. Its too open for the fact that the battle then just happens at close ranges. Too wide terrain, imo
German mainbase is a rapebase, cause all exit routes can be blocked so damm easy. The old version was much better imo, with the forest ect.

IMO start with Falaise pocket or Lebisey...These maps play great even with a 20 ppl on a server. (at least I enjoyed a couple of similar rounds last weekend) then start including a couple of larger maps.

HSLAN seems to be back in business! Finally I can go play FH2 in a friendly teamplay oriented environment again! Any new players looking for a server to play on, please choose HSLAN, the admins are great, the ping is usually good and the server is reliable. Play FH2 the way it is meant to be played, join HSLAN now :D!

played my 1st game of FH2 since Jan, it was on 726 or whutever, but I'd just like to hijack this thread and say...

Sorry for that. But it is summer. Most people enjoy to be outside.
Other people, as me for example, are busy with real life (work, university etc.) ;)
But ofcourse we can try to make a kickstart tomorrow/today ;D

we got shity weather in Poland for about 2 weeks now and there is nothing to do outside so I will be there for 99%! ;) If it is summer and we had got more than 2 full servers today I'm afraid that there will be to few servers to handle players base after the summer, lol! :P

Well being a relative new guy coming from games/mods like Red Orchestra Ostfront 41-45, Darkest Hour and Project Reality, the only thing that is going to keep me playing FH2 will be a strong team work aspect.
Hopefully I find it on this server. :)

If you have a mic, and find a decent squad/get on Teamspeak/ventrilo/whatever they use, you will find it awesome ;D

Ill be there aswell if my connection is good. Ive played many good rounds in von.smalls squad. That is a while ago, havent seen him too much lately. I guess Irishforce is a good squad, only been in it once. But i think its alittle over-hyped , theres alot of other good squads out there aswell.

Since 762 is just a bunch of headless chickens this afternoon, we're actually trying to start Hslan with two other people. The server is running FoT 16p now. Come and join us !
Edit : ok we got to 10 people...not really what I expected but well...at least we played some good small maps.

Problem is, is it really worth having a 2nd server ?
This is not free, and no one knows how many players will still be playing regularly in a few weeks. Not to mention that there are still many empty servers available, and people paying for them, they deserve to be used. ;)

I'm with Strat here. As much as I love the way hslan is adminned, there are still several others which deserve attention. I remember 79th server always to be good too, join that one (edit: I just saw in game-monitor that their server is still 2.3 so we have to wait a little longer before we can join them), or try out the server I played on yesterday: EBF. Also a nice and well controlled server as far as I could tell from 4+ hours of playing there yesterday.

I now but that was pre patch ;-) before the neew Patch witch made africa alot more epic again in my eyes.
Before the patch i just cut not get myself to play a africa map, and i was ready to delete africa maps from the mod if i hade the choice ;-)

As much as I think it would be sweet with a second HSLAN server, I think we should support other servers that also run with PURE settings and official awards!

There can be only one Hslan! Other one would be just its retard brother,that no one wants to be in until 1st is full.
Its better to have one nicely adminned Hslan than two with admin numbers split between them.
