Hello and welcome back to another update of No Man’s Land.  For today’s update, we have some new renders.

First, WIP render of Medium Mark A Whippet
The Medium Mark A Whippet was a British tank of the First World War. It was intended to complement the slower British heavy tanks by using its relative mobility and speed in exploiting any break in the enemy lines. Possibly the most successful British tank of World War I, the Whippet was responsible for more German casualties than any other British tank of the war. Whippets later took part in several of the British Army's postwar actions, notably in Ireland and North Russia. In NML, Whippet was modeled by Arc.

And second, german smoke grenade „Hand-Nebelbombe“!
The body of this smoke grenade consisted of two sheet steel halves soldered together.
It was filled with (toxic) chlorsulon-acid which reacted with the air resulting in a thick white/grey smoke.
The fuze was made of brass and was the same as used on the kugel m13.
Diameter 100mm. In NML, this smoke grenade was modeled by Ahven, skinned by Roni.

Urgh, what a ugly tank design! I´m glad todays tank designs don´t look like that ^^
But the model is well done and the smoke grenade looks nice, too. I´m really looking forward to your first release. Hopefully your mod will be as much fun as BF1918!

So is a bradley

anyways, since the chemical in the smoke grenade is toxic, will the people receving the grenade have any effects as to blured vision or anyhing else like that?

some smoke grenades like white phosphorus grenades and such might even be fatal.
EDIT:
WP smoke is only fatal in high concentrations but it acts like tear gas in minor concentration.

Well if the smoke kills, then the Germans will just spam them.

Title: Re: No Man's Land News: Succesfull smoke.

Much in the same way normal grenades kill and people just spam them?

Smoke stays longer so 2 smoke grenades would be the same as 4 hand grenades

Smoke grenade kills ftw

What is that tank armed with?
How fast will it go in-game compared to the FH2 tanks?
How would a German player take down this beast?

I'm curious how the NML team plans to incorporate tanks into their mod.

I'm curious how the NML team plans to incorporate tanks into their mod.
1) Four hotchkiss machineguns, one facing each direction
2) Its top speed(the speed it would achieve on a flat road and not the mud and craters of no man's land) was just past ten kmh
3) The armor was pretty crappy. A rifle can do a little bit of damage at the right spot while a machine gun will do a lot more damage to it. It only had about 10mm of armor at most. Grenades will roll off the hood but there's a high chance they'll be able to take off a chunk of health while AT rifles and AT grenades will rip it to pieces.

Idk if people would like playing with tanks that can be killed by rifle fire :/
Don't get me wrong I like shitty tanks I'm the guy who uses the vickers in FH2, but idk that thing really sounds like a piece of shit.

But tbh whats the fun of using a tank that gets killed by everything? Wouldn't most players just huff it out on foot?

Tanks wern't to common in the first world war so not too many people would get the chance to drive them in the first place making this conversation completely void

It's not like one rifleman could kill it. In any sensible time anyway. It would take a whole bunch of Germans with AP ammo, just like in real life. (At least I hope so :p )

Well if the smoke kills, then the Germans will just spam them.
Just like the British white phosphorous smoke grenade is being spammed against infantry all the time in FH2?

AP ammo? Does it mean we will get 5 rounds of SMK AP rifle ammo, per infantry man?  :o

As I said, there won't be too many tanks on a team. This promotes teamwork seeing as people will man the machine guns and such and try to protect the few tanks they have, not to mention a tank makes good cover which means some infantry will stick together even if they don't want to.
One of the biggest problems with fh2 is people are so obsessed with tank whoring that there's not enough infantry to do anything properly and all the tanks do is go on their own little adventure to kill everything they can before being blown up. There's not a lot of teamwork going on in the infantry, at most they just stay relatively close to the squad leader. Spawn waves only made everything worse. If anything, your argument is completely void.

Already tanked to Mudra about this, apparently thw Whippet could be pierced anything more powerful than a pistol, and that flamethrowers could roast the people inside.  No special ammunition required.
