FH2 textures problem
« on: 28-10-2012, 02:10:26 »
I have a Geforce 560 2gb graphic card, and at all resolutions, the ground and wall textures just look so terribly pixelated that I dont know what to do about it.

Any help please? Im running everything at maximum.

Windows 7 ultimate 64
16gb ddr3 1333mhz ram
Geforce 560 2gb
I5 2400 at 3.5ghz.

Can we get a picture if possible? Does it look like there is a film grain?

Here's the pictures:

As you can see the textures look very, very blurry, instead of the HD retextures of the FH2 mod, I dont know why they look like that, Im running everything on highest settings.

It looks normal, even did a little comparison. If it could get any better then I guess I have a problem too.

Oh...but the game play videos look so damn nice :S I want my game to look like that. There should be an HD version of all the textures.

yea.. right, that would work ::)

You walk up close to a wall and take a screenshot, it becomes blurry on all games. This looks normal to me. Filmgrain does blur screenshots a bit though. We've maximized the graphical quality of BF2 while still being able to support 64 players on a server with multiple vehicles and complex particle FX.

also....8 year old engine, that's a long time... it's a whole generation away

And I appreciate the answer, however, wouldnt high res retextures make the game look better? Just out of curiosity. I suppose that my high end settings could run it easily. Of course, it isnt a priority as of yet.

I guess FH2 textures are already high res, compared to vanilla BF2 or PR. Well, after 8 years even those get outdated.

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

Not really feasible. Textures were made for the size they are used. Redoing all textures for that is not something anyone here aims for or would be a great benefit.
But as Natty said, the closer you go to objects the more you notice it. You have this still in modern games upon some closeup distances.  :)
