Gaming / Re: World of Tanks
« on: 23-02-2012, 04:02:29 »
I´ve had it with this game. This now gets my rating: "bullshit". It´s unrealistic and frustrating. Other than the classes of vehicles (Artillery, Light, Medium, Heavy and Tankdestroyers) it doesn´t offer much strategic depht. And even then some tanks fail at their intended role even when used correctly.

First game: I just had my Jagdpanthers 105 bounce 2 times from a KV´s turret. The KV however with it´s short 75mm penetrated my Jagdpanthers frontal armour 2 times and I blew up. It really seems like a russian sticker on the vehicle gives it extra power. In any way, a gameplay related or a realistic way the Jagdpanther should have won that engagement. Hell, I had a goddamn upgraded T7 tank lose versus a russian T5 tank without upgrades. And I used the Jagdpanther correctly: I set up an ambush behind a hedge, not moving.

Also it´s a tankdestroyer, someone would expect that it can damage heavy tanks (even more so when they are 2 tiers under you). And let´s not even talk about enemies of equal or higher tiers.

Second game: 5 chinese tanks from the late 50ties in a WW II era game totally dominating the battlefield.

Third game: I made the mistake to buy the D2 for the french tree with free XP. Well, it´s slow, it doesn´t have a prober gun and the armour is penetrated on a regular basis when I´m matched versus tanks 3 Tiers above me. Last game i got 53 XP with it.

I´m aware that I sound like an angry kid now, but I don´t enjoy the game at all any more. Just my opininion. I think I will take a break from it (again).

lol I think that KV just got lucky. Also, those Chinese tanks have a gun used by a Tier 6 medium tank... armour is kind of good, but certainly not OP.

And if you get lucky the Chinese tank would go up in fireworks in one shot.

Breaking a 3-digit lock in my 600-ish attempt.

Oh the joy when the lock is broken...
Once in school we were looking movie and TV was locked to table with 3 digit lock. I opened it with my second attempt  ;D.

Oh the joy!

Suggestions / Re: Solving teamswitching problems.
« on: 16-02-2012, 07:02:22 »
Being asked if you want to teamswitch is more annoying than being forced to?

it sucks, usually people who switch are the better players as they are more active and dies a bit more often than a camper coward.

I admit, when teams are not balanced, I'll hide like a coward just to make sure I don't get switched...

Who needs to waste another bullet when you can check the top left corner of the screen.

I sometimes keep firing for realism sake, lol... and sometimes I got another surprise kill as bonus.

terror drones bring bad news to fans! noooo my Goliath....

MIRAGE TANK!

I find trees lovely!
Nobody here but us trees!
Mean green and unseen!
Now you see me, soon you wont.
AHA!SNEAK attack!

Since the mirage tank changes to a tree
Foliage camo for STUG?
hahaha if only

Now we need "forgotten hope: Red Alert 2"

I'll drive my terror drone and eat all the vehicles...

I guess this habit comes from you don't usually fire a few more bullet to "make sure" your enemies are dead. As a result, we are happy with one bullet...

Are you hidden?
If yes=Do you need to attack? If yes stay hidden at all times. If no Stay hidden
If no= Stay hidden

so many underestimate the importance of cover. but then they complain because they cant win an assault or defensive map

hidin in cover sux cannot see enemies I have to shoot someone out there !!!!111!  :D

seriously, it doesn't hurt to stay behind the stone wall for a couple of seconds. Or even a minute.

You can compare it quiet good with Counter-Strike or CoD concerning this point. You get around a corner and simply "Snap" the people. I just played some BC2 and the reaction times there are much slower for example. Same goes for vBF2.
I noticed too that fh2 is an almost unique experience in terms of quick reaction and accuracy. When I started fh2 in the early days of 2.0, it took a lot of time for me to get used to the then ridiculously small iron sights and often extremely long-distance firefights (afrika remember), so that when I got back to vbf2 and even cod4 my accuracy was just mind-boggling to regular players. It seemed to me that I had all the time of the world to pick headshots, also the respective heads seemed huge ;). It's a shame I lost this perk somewhere down the track nowadays

Yeah if you play well in FH2 you can shoot very well in most shooters, often with scary accuracy. But sometimes bad habits such as firing one bullet (using rifles) a time can haunt you. It hits, but does not kill.

teamkills are always with most precision and fastest reflex, it happens all the time.

There is always a dilemma, when you see a teammate aiming at you 5 meters away, stood still or hit the dirt? If I stand still, sometimes he proceed on firing at me, if I hit the dirt, he sometimes either shoots me or lob a grenade at me...

Hehe, those moments are funny. Two guys from the same team facing and aiming at each other, bit unsure whether the should shoot or not. Funny are those guys who are firing at you after you considered him to be a friend and not a foe and keep going on, and then they miss the first two or three shots and then team kill you.  ;D

Things just happen too fast for you to scream : hold your fire!...

Thank you all for your replies, this is meant to be collecting some information for "research" purposes.  :)

Yes, I'm still glad to hear that most of the FH community is mentally normal. There was someone I know of who got punched in the face, humiliated, and even threaten to be "courted" just because he annoyed one of his past (good) friends a bit online (again), that's why I wonder how normally people react to this. I feel really sad about that and can't help him a bit.

(apparently his friend is either insane or have a really bad temper)

fail to hit an enemy 5 meters from me with 5 shots well aimed but managed to TK someone 500 meters away with one shot poorly aimed. Always happens. Now I am reluctant to fire at distant targets.
