FH2 Help / Support / Re: Input Not Supported
« on: 08-05-2009, 15:05:25 »
Do you have a nvidia card, by any chance ?
It can't be that hard to get both bf1942 and BF2 working. Did you check if there were any dump files ?

Also check out the advice from Die Happy, it is an alternative to using refreshforce.

There is one thing more I want in this patch and that is being able to toggle the crouch key.

Have you tried fiddeling with the controls.con. There is a seperate attribute that indicates if a key can be toggeled.

It crashes because you have a resolution plus refresh rate conflict with BF2.
Check if you have dump files in your my documents/BF 2 folder.

that would be KICK butt for d-day  ;D

Huh? That could turn D-Day into a pointless, mindless meatgrinder. Have you ever played Charlie Sector as the Americans? Now have you ever won it? I sure have, and let me tell you, it would be pretty much impossible with push mode on. (Capture West SPR Bunker=> Capture East SPR Bunker=> Capture Command Base=> Capture German Mainbase) Not that I'm implying that they'll make SPR bunkers for Omaha, but the only fancy shenanigans I would pull wih D-Day is making the Allied beach flag uncapable for the Germans.

I thinks he means that some flags can't be recaputered by Germans.

@ NTH

* It has not been 64 players since the 5th of May at some 1 PM. I changed to 16 maps and 32 slots that noon.
* Yes four (4) players is needed to start the server is due to that I/we do not have any information regarding to this from the crew. (1 on 1 sux, doesn't it?) ;)
* Concerning players that dropped or why no more joined, I cannot do a thing. Sorry! wish I could.
(Anyway, now you know where to find us and if you feel that you are one of ones that can bring anything to our FH2-server, do not hesitate to PM me). We are all ears!
* Reports?
What was those about?
!report is only to be used when server violations happens! And I did not see any of those! (Sometimes the "bot" crashes though...)

Later,
Magrioteli
I used the reports to mention the the Tunis map was 64 player size. With 2 players on each side we could not cap the first because it requires 3 persons.
I will check in this server tonight.

3126
I played yesterday on your server.

A few remarks :

- There was a 64 player version tunis on
- It needed 4 players to start the game
- I noticed lots of disconnect from myself and other players
- It was pity that not more players joined, we had a max of 6 players, but that didn't work with Tunis 64 players

Did you get my reports ? I used chat say all and !report ..

Keep up the good work and this will become a great inf. only server.

Reset the resolution in all your video.con files to 800X600. It's the default resolution for BF1942.
What did you change to cause this behaviour ?

But ye, a Malta would be cool.Would be a chance to see the Italian airforce doing their thing

Would be quite boring..... Italian bomberplane flies to Malta, sees heavy flak, drops bomb way to early, kills some unfortunate fishermen, flies home and eats pasta. ;D

Malta by the way is very interesting to visit, take a tour around the Valleta Harbour and Sliema, it is riddeled with WWII history.

Actually the Italians were considered very capable flyers and their bombing accuracy was considered good

Quote
During the first weeks there were constant raids. The Italian bombers continued to fly over at high altitude in faultless formations. and the accuracy of their high level bombing earned grudging respect.

Quote
Even when unaccompanied by fighters, the Italian bombers were quick to adapt their tactics to their advantage in speed and numbers. On 17th June, for instance, it was noted during four raids that one bomber in a formation of five would straggle. When attacked by the Gladiators this bomber would lose height, flying beneath its fellows, who would then attack the Gladiator pilots with their down-firing movable guns. It was found that the straggler was the only target which the Gladiators were normally able to attack.

It's no fun using stereotypes, when you start throwing quotes like that at me, Anlushac11  ;)

Offcourse they were not terrible pilots, but from what I understood when I was on Malta, was that the Maltese rather had Italian bombers then the German ones. I also could assume that the Italians were less inclined to bomb their neighbours, maybe friends, to hell then the Germans.
There is also some difference in the beginning of the bombing of Malta and near the end, in the Italians pilots attitude.
Perhaps Sisko can enlighten us, I do believe he is from Malta.

I would like to open my side window, whip out my sidearm and do slow fly-by shootings  ;) ;D
Wingclipping is also tremendously fun with the Scout plane, if you live to tell the tale, that is..

A Fieseler F1 156 'Storch' was the victim of the last dog fight on the Western Front and another was fittingly downed by a direct Allied counterpart of the Storch—an L-4 Grasshopper—from the L-4's crew directing their pistol fire at it. The pilot and co-pilot of the L-4, Lts. Duane Francis and Bill Martin, opened fire on the Storch with their .45 caliber pistols, forcing the German air crew to land and surrender. The involved Storch was the only aircraft known to have been downed by handgun fire in the entire war.

Any devs reading this. I see potential for:

A) A cool new feature for FH2: Fly-by Spotter plane shoot outs tm
B) It comes with it's own very cool and shiny award

Off-Topic / Re: Proof that WWII was in black and white
« on: 29-04-2009, 13:04:58 »
Games that are announced first for a console are failed games by default, as it will only result in another piss poor portation for the PC...

The style looks good, but a big meh for 3rd Person FPS as well.

It's the concept of the game that appeals to me. I also don't get to whole console ports suck by definition thingy.
Could be that I don't have that high standards, but I like the Final Fantasy ports, Gears of Wars was ok for me (not my cup of tea) and GTAIV was fun to play.

Read http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/975/975210p2.html.

FH2 is not the only game that goes black and white ;)
Sounds look a fun game and from a perspective not found in many WWII games.
Its also for PC.

My name is Rawhide, I'm 22 years old tomorrow.

Born and raised in the heart of Sweden

Work as a "communicator" for a major Swedish company. It's not fun but it's money too keep me alive (beer, Internet, apartment, food).

Always been in love with FPS since I fell for Day of Defeat 3.1 (Bandage, Über-Garand), before that I was a hardcore console lover with no ties to PC gaming. But still, my favorite game is Final Fantasy VII (don't laugh!).

You can usually see me leading TEAMWORK squad on hslan, if I'm not there I'm probably working, drinking, or playing the FH2 beta (2.2 r0x0r) with Flippy and the guys.

Yes.. FF VII Lover too.. bloody great game.
Can be found on HSLAN playing in any teamwork orientated squad or ,depending on my mood, camping .. err meant defending the your local airfield.
