MG deployment in the Future of FH2?
« on: 14-08-2012, 22:08:57 »
Are the devs working on an MG deployment method for later patches? If not, why can't we just use a modified version of the Project Reality MG deployment, they might loan the code to the devs. (Modified as in when you deploy your MG, YOU CANT MOVE except crouch and prone.)

lol why should they loan the code? If the devs wanted it they could code it themselves easily. But they don't so tough luck.

I think with the 130+  players now we will need some kind of MG deployment, because the current decent MG setup points will become known very soon and someone will probably pay attention to them out of 130 players. But I understand why the code might be OP in some instances... Still I don't think more options can hurt... If there was a 20-30 second long setup animation it probably wouldn't be op... kinda how riflenades work now...
This sentence is intentionally left unfinished...

I still find most of the static MG points aimed at very inconvenient choke points which alot of players do not use. I still don't see why a modified version of the Project Reality MG deployment hasn't been put in yet, hell im pretty sure everyone would understand if the devs said it was just a temporary placeholder for an MG placement.

Im very confident in the developers ability in making the code themselves but im wondering if they are even considering putting an MG deployment system in... (Or realistically, they just thought "Fuck it, low priority, time to model more tanks.)

Yeah right, Kev is a great modeler you know...

They don't want it because it's not that great. IIRC

I find that sort of lame. The MG class is an extremely important class if used correctly (First needs the correct mechanics put ingame) But without MG deployment above cover is like having a Popsicle without a stick. It's going to be ok in some situations but most of the time its going to be an annoying mess trying to use it correctly.

Trying to go prone on a window sill in this game is hard as hell :(. Some people do want to use the MG correctly in city maps y'know.

Me neither, but the team doesn't exactly have a healthy appetite for outside suggestions, custom products or code. You'll just get a black chopper pic and the thread dies.

Project Reality mod method of MG deployment, Its pretty much ironsighting with an MG but with the movement and such being slower.

Hopefully we'll see a stationary version of that in FH2

PR system as well as the FH2 NCO system so people could choose the deployable versions of the belt fed MG's would be great (vickers tripod, MG34, MG42 and 1919).  Actually doesn't that poor un-loved breda get a tripod version as well?  Or was I drunk.....

The purpose of this deployment was to "annoy and defy the United States ... on her with Bofors 40 mm guns from a range of 650

I don't know what is possible with this BF2 Engine. But if the Devs would make a deploying System like that from BF3, it would be awesome. Thinking of deploying my MG42 at Windows and/or crates etc ... ROAR!

Possible? Yes.
Possible for FH2? No, why? ALL of the static props in the mod would need to be recoded and redone for such thing to happen.

Just throw in a Stationary Project Reality version of MG deployment and the community will be happy.

this thread should marry this thread; http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=15929.0

then have thread-sex and have a beautiful baby, looking like this:

BTW: I'm Pro being able to stand/crouch and fire MGs (all weapons for that sake, except deployed weapons like Mortars and Laffettes ofcourse...)

also: STANDING/CROUCHING and toss mines should be possible, who's widdme
