PANZER 88
« on: 08-09-2010, 11:09:55 »
A long time ago, in the cold steppes of the Soviet Union, far far away...

http://www.firstshowing.net/2010/08/23/awesome-concept-art-info-about-weta-project-panzer-88/

The epic film about the Panzer Kampfwagen VI Tiger II "Königstiger", named Ilse and its 5 man crew.
Read on my friends and rejoyce for the epicness of that project

Fucking awesome 8)  ;D

ah. thanks.

Ye Iron sky... can't wait for that too. Too bad they announced the defeat of the Germans already in the teaser...

But I really hope that it'll be a historically correct Tiger II, from concept art I see it's a mix of teh Panther, PzIV and the Tiger I if I'm not mistaken but still...schurtzen??

That's why they call it "concept art"  ;)

But this looks/sounds awesome, as long as it doesn't turn out to be simply Wolfenstein-on-tracks. Here's hoping for a gritty, historically correct-looking, not-too- supernatural, low-on-CGI WWII thriller.

And, don't you just love promo-talk?
"We're aiming to do for the tank genre what Hunt For Red October and Crimson Tide did for submarine flicks."

Sorry what, the "tank-genre"? Now I like these guys already simply for the effort of making a eastern front tank movie, but please don't go creating your own genres so that you can make a statement.

Well, off topic, here are is my top-5 tank-genre movies:
- Kelly's Heroes
- Sahara
- ehm...
- ...well...
- wait a minute...
FH2 is the game, DarklyDreamingDexter is the name.

Indeed there is! Thanks for reminding me, I kind of forgot about that one but I really wanted to see it when it came out.

Any other tank-movies I missed out on? And no, Bridge Too Far is not a tank-movie, imo. Nor is Bridge At Remagen. They belong in the bridge-genre.
