3D Map Tutorial

This tutorial will explain what a 3D map is, what it does & how to activate it.
3D Map: It is a Graphic Icon Enhancement that can be seen in-game. It does not affect the Mini-map.
What it does: When activated, you can see the following symbols in-game.

- Flag marker Icon at center of cap zone
- Distance to flags in meters
- Distance to Squad Leader marker in meters
- Player icon above player name
- Red Skull icon where friendly S-Mines have been set & the distance in meters

- Squad leader number above Squad Leaders name

- How to activate 3D Map
1) Open FH2 game
2) Go to Options/Controls/Common Controls
3) Change 3D Map key from Alt to "InsertUselessKeyHere"
4) Join server (empty one preferably)
5) Take scoutkit
6) Put S-mine
7) See if you can spot the red skull icons when you are close to your own S-mines
- If yes: profit! Done, don't change anything anymore

This should be stickied. Also, it should be put as part of the map descriptions on all maps in FH2, but I'll settle for just a sticky for the time being.

Yes and that's the main problem usually. People alt-tab from game to do something and accidently turn off 3d map.

That's why you have to change the key to something you (almost) never use. I suggest "O". :)

and yes you can still use "o" while typing in chat without it turning off the 3d map

Indeed, because all chat keys (default j, k and l) disable all other functions bound to other keys. Remember the wwwwwwwwwwwwwww in chat? ;)
