"Where No Two Wheels Can Go"
Update will be here at 4pm EST/20:00 GMT. Enjoy!
-
Bricks will be shat!
-
Nice :)
-
Motorcycle with sidecar ? ;D
-
that would be more than two wheels ;)
-
Motorcycle doing a wheelie? 1 wheel since "no 2 wheels can go"?
-
Argh, just discovered that it´s not even 19.00 GMT. Alright, I´ll see what the update brought tomorrow, when I have to get up at 6 AM.
-
No two wheels, ca be three wheels right. Motrocycle ftw!!
-
wheels wont go? either a bullet, tank shell, tank tracks... or.. hmm..
-
Sweet. been a Totally fucked-up week. I so totally needed this. Can't wait! :-)
-
Regular motorcycles perhaps? PR has them, they arnt immpossible. What is the name of the sherman tank veriant that cleared hedgerows using chains? It could be that. I mean, even a motorcycle couldn't even get though the hedgerows.
-
A unicycle to go with the bicycle.

The chains isn't for the hedgerows but for the mine and it's the sherman crab.
-
Nice name :D
In 8 mins if am i right.
-
Woot can't wait! Great job.
-
So far nobody has come even close.
-
Ho my god. It's mean mobile artillery.
-
HOLY FUCK MOBILE ARTILLERY I LOVE YOU ALL
-
*heartattack*
-
Wunderbar! Gj devs.
-
Great! Can't wait for the M7 and Sexton.
-
Will the 105 Sherman have spotting ability this time through?
-
We don't have a 105mm Sherman yet.
-
And as far as I know there was none in FH1.
-
And as far as I know there was none in FH1.
Yes,for example in Caen... *hint* *hint*
-
105mm Shermans were in FH, but they were not artillery tanks. Just like irl they werent. They were fire support vehicles like StuH's were.
-
Will the 105 Sherman have spotting ability this time through?
Unlikely. It's a direct fire support vehicle comparable to the StuH 42.
-
If evidence could be found to support that they were used indirectly, would this be considered?
All kinds of tanks were used in indirect fire roles, my grandfather used a Pershing in Korea and has pictures of the tank on an embankment so they could use the 90mm as artillery. Could be a neat feature to add to all tanks, get enough teamwork going and it could be useful.
-
Hmmm, will the wespe be singleseat or like in BF42?
-
Sherman Crab and Churchill Crab - and the machinery is called a "Flail".
-
No. I doubt tanks were hooked up to FDrs at the time, which is what the spotting currently simulates. Also the role of tanks is to be used offesively to break through, we don't need more of them hanging back at the base raping infantry from afar.
-
Hmmm, will the wespe be singleseat or like in BF42?
god forbid a two man tank in Fh2
-
If evidence could be found to support that they were used indirectly, would this be considered?
It can't be both, and since it was used mainly for direct fire, I'd say this is how it would appear in FH2.
-
The engine won't support it being both?
I mean if it was possible in real life i would make it possible in game.
What could you harm in doing so? More team play between spotters and tanks?
The problem with the 105 before was it would sit around and not be used, or if it was used it was used in an AT role.
-
Hmmm, will the wespe be singleseat or like in BF42?
god forbid a two man tank in Fh2
Mobile artillery vehicles are not tanks ;)
I would suspect that they will be 2 seat vehicles (plus seats for any MGs there might be), as a single seat would lead to using it as direct AT.
-
Hmmm, will the wespe be singleseat or like in BF42?
god forbid a two man tank in Fh2
Perhaps one day we see a tank or artillery crew operating a vehicle.
-
+1
-
I hope we get a M7 Priest
-
I wanna kiss Toddel :-* :-* :-*
In a veeery heterosexual style! Not that I have something against gay people...
-
Mobile artillery, Yessssssssssssssssss. Spit really is credit to team.
On the downpoint, this means I wont be the only one anymore, come next patch, running to the Stuka Zu Fuss.
-
Mobile artillery ? Wooohoooooo ! I love you all ! :-* :-*
-
THIS IS THE GREATEST SINGLE PIECE OF NEWS IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.
Fuck VE-Day, we've got mobile arty.
-
So we now have both 'panzers' from ramelle :-)
-
Very nice update.. I think the new coding will improve FH2 tactic possibility's a lot and the Wespe is also a very nice addition.
Looking forward to delivering precision 28cm shells with my Stuka zu Fuss :D
But I wonder what the allies get ?
-

Screwed that's what they get ;)

The problem with the 105 before was it would sit around and not be used, or if it was used it was used in an AT role.
Two reasons:
1) The "arty view" is bound on "secondary fire" key. You could have either the coaxial MG or the bird's eye view.
2) Because of the limited scale of SH2, the artillery trajectories are way higher than IRL. Tank cannons have more realistic and flatter trajectories. "Artillery tank" would then either have a) very silly, BF42 style trajectory for direct fire role or b) way too flat artillery trajectory rendering indirect fire impossible in most cases.
This is why direct and indirect fire must be kept separate.
-
So we now have both 'panzers' from ramelle :-)
That was a Marder IIIM IIRC.

I think I could live with B. Losing the MG is one point, what about making an alternative "shell" for the 105 that's an MG, since you can't really use a 105 and mg at the same time anyway.
-
I wouldn't say it's worth the effort, but it's not up to me anyway. We'll see.
At least we finally have the mobile arty in ;D
-
All that trouble would be not worth it, because the Sherman 105mm was used and designed for a close fire support role. That's why they put the howitzer inside a tank, so he could drive up to shit and blow it up. Including the artillery system makes no sense.
-
I thought this day would never come. The Wespe, too beautiful for words.
-
I'm crying of happiness right now... :'(
-
Next news update: Mounting MGs on windows ;)
-
Next news update: Mounting MGs on windows ;)
After that, the Maus, Ratte and Monster?
Oh, and then we'll have night-vision Alphenstung.
-
Spitfire, have my children. :)
-
Next up, working ships.
-
Sweet mother of mercy.
I have no words for this.
-
OMG MOBILE ARTILLERY!
I never thought I'd see the day! You guys are god-like super-geniuses! This is, by far, the most exciting update I have seen in a long time.
All right you pixel-aiming counter artillery bastards, lets see you find me NOW!!!!
BTW I assume, because of balance issues, we are probably not going to be seeing these placed in existing maps.
-
Not 100% sure but I think they might replace existing static artillery pieces on some of the large tankmaps (Cobra, El Al, not smaller than Goodwood basically). At least that's what I would do.
-
The Wespe wasn't used in North Africa.
Anyway i just had a thought....

I was talking mobile artillery pieces as a class, not the Wespe in particular.

-
BTW where is theta, I don't think I have heard his girlish shrieks yet...
Yes, it's quite disturbing. Anybody know him IRL so we can check that he still has some kind of pulse?
-
hehe nice news indeed ;)
And i just love howe everyone thought it whas going to be somthing else from the neews descriptions, hehe.
And useing the Stuka Zu Fuss now is just brilliant.
This whas indeed one off the really good neews in a long time.
-

Ah i see what you mean now.
-
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.
*Squeeee~
*cough*
I mean.. cool. Nice addition to the game. 8)
;D
-
OH FUCK YES. Goddamn I did not expect this one. I am so looking forward to this feature now...I cant stop smiling. Thank you so much.
And the Wespe is beautiful. I hope it's open topped like that in-game this time around so we can see that interior. btw Is the reference to the eastern front and the grey paint scheme a hint? :D
-
a hint? :D
maybe. I thought Kev already said the next front was the bulge.
-
a hint? :D
maybe. I thought Kev already said the next front was the bulge.
dont you think you would have seen some snow skins if that was true?
-

Maybe they just haven't been released yet.
Great job on the waspe :D Will any other self propelled arty vehicles make it in time for 2.3?
-
a hint? :D
maybe. I thought Kev already said the next front was the bulge.
dont you think you would have seen some snow skins if that was true?
Indeed, the StG44 requiring two shots to kill pretty much makes it obsolete against rifles beyond 100m.
For 2.3 we've made it cause bleed by one shot (same as the m1 carbine). However if this still presents a problem in Bulge I will of course look deeper into its recoil code for semi auto.
Not really a confirmation, but a hint (I hope). If not, oh well, a little misunderstanding.
-
HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT! HOLY-SHIT!
I'm breaking out a cigar for this one!
Awesome work, just awesome.
-
About time to get some fap-worthy news. Now where's mah M12 Gun Motor Carriage? :P
-
Excellent update.8) Looking forward to the release very much.
-
Wasn't there a recent suggestion thread talking about this?
Hasn't this type of thing (suggestion thread begins, news update with suggested item quickly follows) happened a lot lately?
This is really cool.... Excellent work!
-
Hasn't this type of thing (suggestion thread begins, news update with suggested item quickly follows) happened a lot lately?
Yes, it has. Mostly because the thread gets seen and that reminds Azreal that such and such was made about 2 months before.
-
Actually that thread was pretty much what convinced Spit to do this. Its pretty funny. We've been telling people mobile artillery wouldn't work and then Spit came along one day, and was all "oh yea, btw I made mobile artillery work. kthxbye!"
-
So it works regardless of what elevation or slope you are on?
-
1 Mio. internet rep to Spit!
Awesome. I liked the Stuka zu Fuss, but found it rather useless in the latest version. But the new mobile artillery system will seriously increase it´s power and the Wespe will be a great addition to the game. I just hope players will use it correctly and not as some sort of assault gun.
Well done devs, I´m really looking forward to the new patch!
-
WOOTTTTTTTT!!!!!! FUCK YES WESPE QND MOBILE ARTY!!!!
Huzzah and congrats to all of the devs for pulling this off. This is great news to hear for someone who has been out of the loop for a week x3
-
WOoooHHOooooo!!! Goodjob devs! Mobile Arty FTW! U always amaze us!
:D
-
Really really really nice update!!!!
I love the skins (especially the panzer grau since it hints about next theatre)!
I can't wait to use mobile artillery. I can't believe you made it work!
+infinite rep to dev team. :-*
-
I just love when you guys do something like this when it was almost certain it was not possible!! You devs are just amazing and so is the Wespe! :D :D
-
now you allies have nowhere to hide from the axis bias! ;D
-
Nice one.

Mobile artillery in FH2?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_WI0VI7aIw
Give....us...the ...HUMMEL....PRIEST....GRILLE....SEXTON....
MAMA MIA Spitfire05 Yousa die greata man!
-
what I love about it so much is that the wespe is so iconic for me having been in BF42. I still wonder how it works though. Is the dial dynamic ie moving when you are on the move? Or does it become active when you stop moving?
Unlike fh1 though, this wespe is going to be cruel with that 105 splash that's in fh2. And @ point blank range, pure murder
-
IMO they should have released the priest aswel!German BIAS!!! ;D ;D ;D
This is great really. The priest, the sexton, the grille, the hummel
All will be possible!
And not really so difficult to make either as most chassis are ingame.
-
BTW where is theta, I don't think I have heard his girlish shrieks yet...
Now you have it ;D
-

came home from work so goddam tired...........dint had the chance to even start up the PC..
-
Damn, yesterday i thought i smoked to much.. but today it seem reality.. The Wespe! Bf1942 nostalgic.. Awsome 8)
-
So, I take it people like this update.
-
I'm so happy to see that feature in FH2. It will so improve gameplay of certain maps.
Be sure that new system kick some asses ;)
-
M8 motor carriage? :P
-
M8 motor carriage? :P
+1
-
M8 motor carriage? :P
Direct fire probably.
-
M8 was barely used in the in-direct fire support role
This was because the 75mm M1A1 howitzer was inaccurate in this role
M8 scotts where used in direct fire support role because they where much more effective in this role.
-
Just quited WoT because of mobile arty and what I see when I check FH news update... FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
But really this is so awesome, can't wait to use Wespe its so beautiful machine IRL and render also. Though would be nice to see some 150 mm arty pieces in the future too :).
-
Ahhh..... ingenious spitfire! ;D
Very remarkable piece of news!

Hummel and M12 ftw!
We need them, badly.
a little suggestion i made in the past, wich can now be possible
http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=2599.0
-
150 mm base rape FTW! ;D
-
We should split this thread for a new one based on Mobile arty.
-
mobile artillery would surely boost the effectiveness of artillery a lot, as if you position your arty closer to the front it means less time for your shell to travel and you could hit moving targets more effectively. Else you need extraordinary intuition and luck to hit a moving target... (I once hit a full, speeding bren carrier with a mortar round on port en bessin but I don't really know how I calculate the entire thing in my mind, I think I "calculate" the speed and position of bren carrier using the engine sound change, and the kill shot is my only shot also)
-
And to use it as direct-fire support
(https://people.mozilla.com/~dolske/tmp/awesome.png)
-
@ General-Henry, you learn it quite fast how to calculate the impact area without the need of seeing the actual dials. Heck, I often hit enemy units off my view just by listening their movement sounds.
What does mobile artillery mean to me? More whoring. As in, I'll be whoring with artillery even more. Beware, because now you dont know where I'll be, spammin' yo' spawns.
-
But more as in=Get out of the mainbase and we can rape you!
Give the Mobile arty much less range as the towed one's, and give it also a good long respawn time
-
I think changing from god-view to spotter's POV would also be a good idea
-
And to use it as direct-fire support
(https://people.mozilla.com/~dolske/tmp/awesome.png)
we just need to get some good old AT rifles, damn.
GET THE BOYS RIFLE!
-
Great update.
CU next week.
-
I smell anti-artillery commando squads :P
-
Nice update, finally no blind shootin Nebelwerfer anymore and the Wespe looks really good too.
-

No, no, you should the one bewaring as now your in a moving vehicle so wherever you go I'll be in a little bush with a Panzerfaust or PIAT.
-
I should have added that I can be anywhere behind the ABC line. :P
-
I'm just waiting for a spate of suicidal idiots thinking they're being clever when they hide directly behind a nice big tree or wall before firing...
-
I should have added that I can be anywhere behind the ABC line. :P
I will swap teams and happily teamkill you.
-
Im sure you do, since you are like that. A smacktard.
-
Someones gotta kill the cowardly dogs. ;D
-
Wooot I'll finally be able to hit something with this damn Stuka Zu Fuss :D (but I'll still blow myself because I aim too low...)
Spit must be some kind of magician to bring such wonderful features like those previously shown on news updates, thanks to him, great job ;)
-
Best update ever, I love whoring up the arty in FH2 and now we can go mobile! :D
Thank you FH team 8)
-
Its Awesome.
Cant wait for Hummel!
HUMMEL!
-
Cool ... have you decided yet how many rounds the wespe can carry? because sometimes its hard to find ammo boxes, and a wespe with 60 rounds in it is just madness .... i guess its the same amount as in the marder? - i ask this because i find myself wasting so many shots with arty right now :)
-
Wespes could carry 32 rounds irl, with many more being carried in their unit's ammo vehicles.
-
YES!!!
FH2's artillery system is already revolutionary as is ... now it's even better, somehow.
I
WANT
THIS
NOW.
-

Usually you need a supply-truck for vehicles.
Can't remember being rearmed from an ammobox using vehicles, which is how it should be :P
-
Hummel? Screw that, Geschuetzwagen Lorraine Schlepper is THE thing.
-
Mobile nebelwerfers!!!!!!!!!!!
German rocket massacre!!!!!!
TOTAL MAYHEM AND HAVOC WREAKING GERMAN MOBILE ARTILLERY!!!!!!!!!
KATYUSHA OF THE WESTERN FRONT!!!!
OFF MAP V2 ROCKET STRIKES!!!!!!!!!
oops... xD

It sure opens ALOT of new posibilities in FH2
I guess the BF2 engine can be tamed sometimes after all

zomg we will finally stop the Panther from rolling over ;D
-
What I've been saying all along: the lafette and deploying in upstairs buildings, multiple kits for a class, plane engine fail. Destructible rail-flown c47, so many improvements in bot AI, now mobile arty... All once seen as impossible. Anyone says FH2 should change engine any time soon and I'll give 'em a Zidane-style fatality headbutt
-
What would make FH2 awesome would be if angled armor would be stronger. Even if it would be only simplified so that 5 degree angle shots wouldn't be possible and tiger armor would actually be stronger in sides if you try to hit it from 10 degree angle. Then you could use real Tiger tactics where drivers tried to angle their armor.
This would fix main reason I don't like tanks in Normandy. But it pretty sure aint possible... :'(
-
Yep that one is a ruled out thing.
It is impossible to do
-
:-\ yeah that sucks... it would be so awesome. I cant even use tanks after I played World of Tanks, I keep shooting front of tiger instead to the side.
-
Ye i also had that!
Wait wtf! No damage on the panthers frontal? WTF?
Boom :P Dead
Since WOT, i mostly am playing infantery on FH2

I think Theta should be sent for a vacation. One to four weeks should do it. Every second message I read is his.

It would be pretty Imba now to see only the stuka zu fuzz on luttich and villers
-
Finally I can use Stuka zu Fuzz for something usefull.
It would be pretty Imba now to see only the stuka zu fuzz on luttich and villers
Could someone please tell me what the hell does "imba" mean?
-
Imbalanced.
And I have no idea wtf Theta just meant with that sentence.
-
I want a Calliope on Lűttich, if they served there. If not then a Bishop. If not then something.
-
Imbalanced.
And I have no idea wtf Theta just meant with that sentence.
I think he means that since the walking stukas have suddenly become a lot more useful, the battle outcomes for luttich and villers are becoming.. dare I say.. GERMAN BIASED!
So, the scales of balance have tipped in favor of the Axis, since they are the only army in FH2 that already have a mobile artillery unit ingame.

Imbalanced.

Because the US has 2 mortars, the germans have 2 mortars but on top of that they get now an accurate Stuka zu fuzz
Please no!

US and germans only have one mortar each :S
But anyways, I get the odd feeling that the Sexton and Priest are probably in the works too :P
-
Germany has a deployable one :0
so do the americans I think
-
Every nation except Italy has a deployable mortar
-
Germany has a deployable one :0

Yeah, but, IIRC its the same as the non-deployable one :P
-
Every nation except Italy has a deployable mortar
Italy doesn't even have a stationary mortar, let alone artillery of their own.
-
Neither does Canada
-
Because the commonwealth nations all use the british model.
-
Neither does Canada
Because Britain, Canada, Australia, and South Africa mostly all use the same equipment.
-
I mean, DO they have a deployable... Anyone seen one in Falaise Pocket or Totalize? I haven't
-
One on Falaise.

It's a Stuka zu Fuss guys, that won't tip the scales. It's 2 attacks with 6 rockets come and go in a battle and seldom leave a mark.
-
Yer, 2 rockets instead of one, now fired with god-vision and accuracy dials... No biggie
-
Yer, 2 rockets instead of one, now fired with god-vision and accuracy dials... No biggie
Doesn't change the fact that it has a mere 12 shots before it is empty.
It's not like a Katyusha or Nebelwerfer.
-
For now, the range is that from the German main, where its safe and with ammo boxes...But you make a good point, its the German Calliope... Grossly compromsed as an artillery mobile carriage
-
Seriously can't understand how some people expect the stuka zu fuss an extra mortar more to turn the tide of the battle. We don't want mirror balance, right?
-
Good point. Otherwise, we get Battlefield 1942....
And Luttich is a tiny little map. Too much armor, might just break it
But give me an epic land battle, with ground-attack aircrafts and interceptors, AA guns, 88s , Tanks and armored scouts of all sizes, the quad-50, trucks, snipers, larger arty than the 25pdr (hint, hint), rolling planes and mobile arty and I'll die in peace... screw balance!
-
oh dont underestimate a good mortar team (spotter + gunner), specially on infantry maps like phl, pdh they can definitely change and dictate the battle.
-
oh dont underestimate a good mortar team (spotter + gunner), specially on infantry maps like phl, pdh they can definitely change and dictate the battle.
True, that does happen, but in any case their back into fight 20 sec later ;)
-
Yeah thats why good mortar team shoots stuff like AT guns, MG nests and enemies that are in really good positions and pwn your team.
But still about Luttich, people seems to forget that Germans are on the attacking side and attackers need more firepower like arty. Also US has AT guns and bazooka guy in every bush.
-
Especially on PHL you need someone to take out the 88 and the Nebel. 80% of all cases where the Amis are stuck at the last bridge flag it turns out noone is in the mortar.
-
If that happens sometimes the mortar is out of ammo and you can't rearm it since the ammo box near it doesn't do that. And the mortar in the field is a death trap. Still I tend to use it for direct fire.
-
It's a pickup mortar, you just need to place it a second time and it is full.
-
Well yeah that one from US base, but I don't know about a deployable mortar at Bridge No.4
-
It is with every deployable weapon.
-
oh dont underestimate a good mortar team (spotter + gunner), specially on infantry maps like phl, pdh they can definitely change and dictate the battle.

Not me ! I enjoy a lot playing with mortars and big Guns during several following rounds. ;)

Axis has shrecks in 2.25 ;)
oooh god the horror
Btw, villers bocage.
Germans get=
Lefh 18
Stuka zu fuss
Mortars
British have=
2 mortars.
And the british are the attackers.
Not to mention the tank ratios of both teams
-
Villers is so easy to win as Brit therefore Walking Stuka only balances that map. Arty also feels so useless in that map never seen it done any good.
-
The wespe is mythic for a retired bf1942 veteran like me. Also, mobile arty will bring a whole new dimention to this mod. One of the most exciting FH2 news ever.
Good job devs! :D

Now i agree.
Next to the Churchill news post and Stug III Ausf G news, this has been one of the best news post

the 79th statistics are horribly outdated. We could use something like that on hslan or 762.

The new version of Villers, once 2.3 gets released, will play differently just wait and see. :D

guderian you. You always made me a believer. And i believe you again this time :)

Always when I play as Brit my team wins.

Just a stupid question about the Wespe... What was the utility of the two white & red "picket" at the back of the Wespe?
-
someone asked this in the begining of the thread.
i think it is used for getting the tank "level" or something like that, or maybe range finding.
-

Correct, they were used to determin the angle at which the vehicle stood.
-
when would we get our mortar halftrucks?
-
Never?
-
Never?
BLAM, dreamcrushed. ;D
-
no dogs on wheels?
-
I got a "Firesturm" news again at main, dated 02.09.2010. Strange
Groundhog Day?
-
No, it is a new version of the StuGIV with a new motor.
-
The unskirted version looks so much better
-
The Wespe is a funny looking thing, I'm not to sure what to think of the drivers compartment, and it being dropped ontop the front. Hehe.
-
by the way, will the wespe be 1 manned or 2 manned?
-
by the way, will the wespe be 1 manned or 2 manned?
I really hope 1 manned. Remember how nice it was back in '42 when someone decided to take that Wespe you had in perfect shooting position to the planes/other tanks/other side of the map? I like to think average FH2 player is lot better than that, but we do get random griefers every now and then...
-
If its one manned its only going to be used as direct fire howitzer so please no 1 seater. You should do it POE style where arty has 2 seats but only one man operates and changes positions, when you are in arty it gets locked and others cant get in it.
-
well 2 manned SP arties should be in defiantly. Even with an awesome friend and team communication, it would still be difficult to operate well
As a direct fire weapon, it will be good, but not very much better then a sherman. Because of only 64 players on a map
-
But the point is they were never used for direct fire like a Sherman, so why tempt the frustrated guy who just spawned and wants to avenge his squad after some asshole in a Lafette massacred them. ;)
I think 2 seats will be fine. Most people only want speed when they're looking for a taxi, and I like to think that a few weeks of yelling at the influx of noobs will turnover the ones that don't know better.
-
mobile arty in FH was always 2 seater, and the stuka zu fuss currently is...so I don't see why it wouldn't be now :P
-
2 seater seems the best way for gameplay, otherwise it will be will be used more as a powerful TD then a SPG.
-
Oh it won't work as a TD...mobile arty was issued very little in the way of AP, and even then, it was extremely low velocity and so about as effective as the AP rounds in the Panzer IV short barrel.
-
But the point is they were never used for direct fire like a Sherman
they did
M7 Priests where sometimes used behind a wall of shermans. Even with the sherman 105. This was because the M7 Priest could achieve a faster ROF. And it had good protection to face minor threats
The M12 was famously used at point blank range in aachen.
The germans used Wespe's and Grilles alot at direct fire support, but dint had the means to protect them, and many where lost this way.
The russians thought about this, and simply made the SU122, SU152, ISU122 and ISU152. These had the roles of Self-propelled gun, Indirect artillery support and tank destroyer
-
Basically, it can be used realistically as direct fire support, sure, but it should be awkward to do so ;)
-

well the M12 crew in Aachen did not even aimed... they just pointed the gun towards a building and just fired
-
Yes yes, but I mean in the gameplay mechanics awkward, IE, in the terms of one driver seat, one gunner seat. This also makes further sure that it is mostly used as indirect arty, its use as direct fire should be rather rare and only in extreme scenarios.

aah yes i see.

We need a new update. Seriously, it's been like 3 weeks! I WHANT MA 2.3 DAMMIT!!

Precisely why I worded it "...like a Sherman." If there was one player as driver and gunner people could easily drive it and maneuver it in a direct role exactly like a Sherman which would be wrong. With two seats direct support would be more awkward, as Mudra put it.

And i support that aswel. 2 man SP arties plz!

mobile arty in FH was always 2 seater
Looks like you forgot the weird guy proof brummbar :P
and the stuka zu fuss currently is...so I don't see why it wouldn't be now :P
Today i tried to use it again
First time they failed to capture driver position
(http://www.ressim.net/l/upload/4bfc4faf.png) (http://www.ressim.net/show.php/2164127_screen543.png.html)
But second time somebody captured it
(http://www.ressim.net/l/upload/dd373f5e.png) (http://www.ressim.net/show.php/2164128_screen544.png.html)
Ok i took the new one, i calculated the distance again, after firing one or two salvos boom here we go again
(http://www.ressim.net/l/upload/b063cd54.png) (http://www.ressim.net/show.php/2164129_screen545.png.html)
(http://www.ressim.net/l/upload/fd9f1c9d.png) (http://www.ressim.net/show.php/2164130_screen546.png.html)
(http://www.ressim.net/l/upload/dca80396.png) (http://www.ressim.net/show.php/2164131_screen547.png.html)
All i can say just go and try to use it if you dare ;D
Btw this ss from yesterday and i didn't took screenshots of other guys ::)
(http://www.ressim.net/l/upload/2218159e.png) (http://www.ressim.net/show.php/2164126_screen507.png.html)
If they changed the marder ( africa ) maybe they have reasons. :P
-
Not sure what all those screenshots are supposed to prove....
But the brummbar is a fully enclosed armoured vehicle that was used for direct fire support like the stug.
-

You can't use vehicles which have seperated positions without getting annoyed every 5 minutes on public servers.
But the brummbar is a fully enclosed armoured vehicle that was used for direct fire support like the stug.
The point is, it was capable to give indirect fire support like other artillery in fh1, it has one seat and i haven't seen any complaining message about that.
Actually people always prefer to use it instead of wespe at battle of the bulge because nobody can annoy you like that if you drive the brummbar.
-
When we tested the Stuka zu fuß it was bloody annoying because you can't adjust the rockets vertically at all, so you had to use the drivers seat for that.
-
news drought :/ :( ???

Calm before the storm.

Calm before the storm.
It bugs me when I see "Forgotten Hope News Update ..." in the description of General Discussion and I get my hopes up that there was a new update ... only to find to my dismay that it's just people discussing some random crap about a tank variant or something in an old thread lol.
-
@ HockeyWarrior
Your statement reminds me of the days before I became a tester/dev :D I feel your pain. That was a major reason why I wanted to become a dev. To help ease your worries, we are very, very close now.

We deleted that and added moar German planes instead.
-
Please let it be Storchs with shrecks!
Seriously, that would be awesome
-
How about Me110 ;D
-
How about Me110 ;D
Approved
But then i wanna see the Fighter bomber version aswel
And the P38
Or the ME110 with 5CM cannon ;D
-
Or Omaha Beach!
-
Omaha beach (or some other landing based map) would make my month.
-
Omaha beach (or some other landing based map) would make my month.
It would. FH2 really needs at least 1 legit beach map.
But for now I'll just take 2.3 thank you very much.

You guys demand too much. It is our sole purpose to continue doing unknown Normandy battles until the end of time.

That's why I love this mod. I feel special inside when I talk about playing a map and people are like, "what's Giarabub? Is that like COD2 or something?"
-
Yeah, but I want at least 1 beach map. I wouldn't mind waiting 2 months for a 2.3 release just for them to fix dolphin diving with anything :-\

we know we need Omaha, we are not ignorant to the fact that ww2's most favorite fight is absent from the mod. The reasons why we dont have it is our private matters though. Same goes for a handful of other maps we still havent delivered.

One year ago, Sep.06, 2.2 was released...
-
Wow you're right. I remember playing it for the first time and being overwhelmed with the green foliage and automatic weapons. This memory is happily entangled with my first few weeks of college. :)
-
wowee, a year ago?
If only I could go bck in time and make bets on whats going to be released...
-
I think the change of policy of releasing thrice a year as opposed to once a year, really paid dividends. Once upon a time, we'd have been getting posts like 'you suck! release now or move on!'... Some of us would just have been quietly pulling our hairs out.
And some of the best stuff have come out since 2.2. Really anxious to see what 2.3 will bring
-
:) One year ago i was absolutly pissed and remember hating myself i couldnt try out 2.2 sober. Though a hangover had (almost) never been that pleasant.
-
Yep, the lush green had never been greener, tanks were suddenly so Hu-uge and pwn-alls ... and Ai had never been stronger courtesy of WinterHilf having just joined the dev team. First time, we had a new release with ai-support for maps from that patch
And suddenly, everyone was wielding a semi...
-
I remember playing it till 4 o'clock in the morning when it was released, awesome. Not happening again until another major release.
-
Then you are in luck!
-
And suddenly, everyone was wielding a semi...
Semi hard-on?
-
*shakes head*
-
And suddenly, everyone was wielding a semi...
-automatic rifle, like a Garand and a Carbine and a historically inaccurate G43?
-
Holy crap I thought djinn got a bugged version of the game where everyone had a toy semi truck in their hands and would run around shooting rednecks out of them.
-
Jeez man! seriously?
-
Keep bumping this with bullshit and someone is going to have a heart attack.
-
or maybe scrounge up a new news post ;D
-
Unlikely.

Ts sucked azreal's cock to get that information.

Uhhh...I should hope nothing of the sort happened.

why should I suck somebody's cock for a news update about stuff I have mostly already seen? doesn't seem like a smart deal for me.
-
i dunno wtf i going on, but if this was rl, and i just walked into the room, i just spat out my drink, and turned right around.
-
And I would have called you back in so that you could clean up the mess you made when you spat your drink on the carpet.

and it was such a nice carpet, it really pulled the room together.

Hey, whats that drink he always makes? Looked so tasty!
Edit: a sweet cocktail made from vodka, coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlúa or Tia Maria) and cream served in an old-fashioned glass with ice. Milk or half and half or Baileys Irish Cream are often used as substitutes for cream.
Kahlúa is the brand of coffee liqueur most commonly associated with White Russians
* 5 cl Vodka
* 2 cl Coffee liqueur
* 3 cl fresh cream
Wikipedia ^_^. Anyone with improvements?
Yea blow me, i aint no teenager nomore

White Russian FTW

No improvements are needed, white russians are great <3

That's not a carpet, it's a rug. ;)

OK seriously this spam on this thread must stop ... every fucking time I see it pop up in the general discussion window, and a small part of me is like "wait, could this be the day?!" only to have it trampled on buy some attention-starved teenagers discussing the leverage of blow jobs.
-
In the meantime you participate ;)
Thx for the compliment, btw: I'm feeling like a teenager again, oh joy! :D
-
can we please lock or delete this god dam thread.. pissing me off i see forgotten hope news update..in the general discussion on the main page and not being able to see august 19... really annoying i vote lock of thread!
-
Bit extreme innit? Just don't be so silly and check the FH website (not forum) once a day, no nasty surprises.
And yeah, move this to the news updates section..
-
Update threads get moved when there is another news post ready to take its place.
