General Discussion / Re: WWII TRIVIA QUESTION
« on: 18-05-2011, 04:05:59 »
This thread was made in the general discussion area because it is directly related to FH2 and therefore on- topic.

Special thanks to Knoffhoff for providing the correct answer with excellent photographs. ;)

Bug Reporting / Re: Bedford QTL (Mickey Mouse truck)
« on: 30-03-2010, 12:03:04 »
Sweet.  For some reason, reporting bugs and getting them fixed makes me feel good inside.  Like a warm and fuzzy feeling that I helped out the mod.  Actually, it's kinda the only way I can contribute, because I don't have skills to make stuff for the mod, and all the good suggestions for new stuff to add have been suggested already.

Anyway, good to know everything's been straightened out.

Thanks for info

There is no wrong or right. There are two versions. ;)

Only one thing, the numbers 84/61 are different (in the wrong order) .  i know this wont bother me in game, but as FH2 devs you might want to be as realistic as possible.

I dont visit the public forum very often so thats the reason for the long delay in response to your comment.
Its good that you noticed , however the numbers i did are correct. The reference used for that particular truck had two different insignia versions. Here you can see the correct insignia on the attached image below.

P.S. -The model render was done with an old version of the texture which was not the texture that was released in 2.25.

Modding / Re: Hungarian Front 2 (still alive)

When baking high to low, it is best to have your low conform to the silhouette of the high as much as possible.
On wheels you have 8 divisions, you could change them to 12, that way your normal map looks good from orthgraphic side view aswell- not just from 3 quarter view like you show here.
Same with bottom wheels/track etc..
In general 3 divs make a 90 degree angle, larger the arc-greater the divisions.
That way you can avoid the chiseled appearance. ;)

the normal map has shapes I cant really create with photoshop and the plugin by a black/white height map, so how is this done?

Thanks in advance!

A hi-res piece of geometry is used to create a normal map for a low-res piece of geometry.
It is often referred to as 'baking a normal map'.
