It's really sad that you're not interested in WWII enough to apply to the FH2 dev team. I think mod needs everybody who can help developement ;)

i dont think it's sad, because i am interested in ww*1* development. And there have been almost no games or mods in that setting.

i mailed FH2 team offering help on their thing in exchange for help on what i wanna do.

Maybe this is a write-off.

so are those guys both constantly bogged down importing char models into mods, or are they able to do stuff?

so is the bottom line likely to be "nobody puts stuff in bf2 anymore?"

I think no man's land is still lurking around here somwehere. Grazetsky told me that mod is not dead and advancing really slowly atm.

Well it's true that we are not dead (yet), but honestly we don't have anyone to import models. Weapons maybe, but definitely not characters  :-\
The devs who still work on the mod are mostly focused on mapping or tweaking.

When you say "import" characters, do you mean rigging them and such? I can rig, but i dont know how to get a rigged character out to bf2.

While i really like FH2 and have always thought it was a quality mod, since bf42, i'm not interested enough in the ww2 setting to commit free time to it, and i believe FH2 have it fully under control as it is. I would much rather devote efforts to something which i feel "needs it" more. And as for working on mods "for the experience" - well, i can get the same experience doing game art under contract :)

While it's a thoughtful suggestion, i'm really only interested if it was a mod focusing on ww1 (which i hope shows in what ive made so far.)

is anyone still trying to do this? I've posted these on bfeditor and nobody seems remotely interested.

I can texture and animate fine but don't wanna spend time doing that unless there's any indication someone can help to put them ingame. I've messed with the bf2 mod tools before myself but never succeeded. I think my efforts are better diverted to modeling and texturing, while it would be ideal, for the actual exporting part to be handled by someone who knows a lot about it already.
