Unless the devs give up their life-long hate for ships, you can expect a map at least twice as large as that currently being played on Waw...

And even with ocean... I imagine, it will still have to be larger... Might also be just a part of Wake...


But this is all diverting offtopic... Its not a conspiracy.. Just our stupid wish for Pacific shit.

I want to touch on this misunderstanding, briefly...

We do not hate ships, we do not bear any life-long hate for ships. And I'm not really quite sure where you got the idea that we not only hate ships, but bear life-long hatred towards them.. I can relate it to the fact that we don't have ships in FH2 yet, but that's only due to us not having released those yet.

Fact is that we've already spent some time working on ships, some very long time ago (around a similar time as when we didn't release that leaked U-Boat video on youtube..) and re-visited perhaps a year ago or so. The thing is that we don't like our options on how ships work in BF2, we would have to look at compromises to make it work in a way where everybody is happy with it and with everything else going on, we haven't put any focus on it until perhaps when we'd reach the pacific, where they should play a large role in.

It just makes me sad that you think we hate ships just because we haven't implemented them in a way we like yet, or gotten around on finishing it. We don't hate, we love! :'(

You crack me up. Ok, fine, you guys don't hate ships. But the avenue for them coming in a format you may accept already exist. But I will elaborate this in another thread - Might have to dig up some old dusty 'Pacific/ ships thread' but still...

More like Forgotten Hope 3 or Forgotten Hope [Put Engine Name Here]

For me, I'd keep my eyes on 1944 Operation Overlord.. you know, that game that promises to give you real time WWII... Well, it'd probably not work, but the engine may have something we like.

All I'd want to see for the next FH, or it wont justify a migration is:
Total internals for vehicles and armor.
Ability to move in and around the inside of a tank,
proximity communication either by quick comm or VoIP, engine kill,
Garand mid-clip reload
All magazined-guns mid-clip single bullets reload
Up to 512 player maps
Complete and realistic environment destruction, including ability to create craters, etc
Ability to completely determine damage of various weapons to allow the conical damage area for grenades.
Multiple ammunition for weapon 0 i.e firing with bayonets.
Random faces and clothing for EACH player
dismemberment, visible blood damage and animated death that is taken over by ragdoll physics.
Modular destruction of vehicles.
Ability to mount LMGs on any surface that allows you to aim over and fire.
Graphics that allow for knee length coats.
Ability to pick up single weapons, rather than kits, so you can customize what you have on you.

Anything less, and we're better of staying right here.
Once those are in, I see No-o reason NOT to migrate  8)

Actually, I was trying to blunten that potential off-topic discussion by laying out the improbably and setting it as condition, so that there would be no reason for anyone to pursue that argument..

I guess I got carried away...

Except they currently got NO engine AFAIK... They switched engines countless times and are still searching for a perfect one..

No, I get that. But it takes 5 seconds to run its width across each arm.. Not sure that will work if you want a Fh2 version. It feels too much like a battle arena at that size than a battlefield that was.

Yeah. In this case you are right. But If you consider, that the whole area is around 17 square kilometre in reality and we have a max size of 4 in BF, then we have to make compromises. Ofcourse a FH2 version of Wake would need alot of work, but I am still dreaming ...  ;D

we need just a remake of the FHSW Iwo Jima Day 1... there will be a lot of party underground tunnel/bunker fights, and sudden Japanese squad with katanas charging to your flanks...  **dreams** ...until a flamethrower guy come and ruin the day by TKing all his teammates.

(well and expect "WTF LOOK AT THE MINIMAP" kind of message)
