AFAIK, unless the maps are using md5 checksums, you can modify anything that is client-side, which mostly means textures but some other stuff too which the server & client don't communicate with each other.

I like this. Good job

Punkbuster won't check those ZIPs in any other mod besides the vanilla 'bf2' mod
Therefore any unfair change on client side is unavoidable, e.g. editing the alpha channel of the smoke texture to disable smokes

Hanley does this mean I can make a bright orange skin and stick it as an Texture?
Sounds like it's prone to cheating.

Good work by the way.

I love it!

Will use it for sure, just like the old texture pack.

Thanks for sharing your work, I will surely test it out and use it if I like it.
The Sound & Texture Pack for FH1 was a great addition.

That´s why Punkbuster has a feature for the server admin to capture screenshots from the clients, so the admin can at least check on suspicious people.
I also remember there being a way to enable MD5 file checks for mods, but you have to generate the checksums for the client files yourself, put them on the server and setup some config for it.

A friend and me tried this out in RnL, making the Americans bright red and the Germans blue. Atleast in RnL nothing happened.

And yes, it is damn helpfull. And no, I deleted it.

Anyway, here's a short list of things I've worked on so far:
  • Historically accurate symbols on German flags, vehicles and uniforms.
Does this include SS runes on the German infantry? (I'm not sure if any map even has the SS in it, I'm just asking)

And one more thing... seeing as I'm no history buff. Did units in NA not have their unit patches on their uniform? And if so, why not?

P.S. I would def. download this... especially if it is as historically accturate as you say it is.
And I second the motion that this should be added into the actual build

Yes, all SS uniforms are accurate with runes and black shoulder-boards.  Most Normandy maps feature the SS.

If the player models featured the British in their battle dress tunics, then yes.  But because they depict the British having shed the tunics and donning shorts, then typically no, they would not be wearing any insignia.

The camo player models are SS, the grey ones are normal Heer.

You could also use an autoaim & wallhack :) PB takes random screenshots of your screen, and admins can ask to see them, that's how we've got a few minimap-hackers at waw. So if you want to do that, go ahead, but you will get caught sooner or later ;)
