Good normandy aa guns
« on: 06-04-2009, 04:04:26 »
Hay
I was thinking for some aa guns for 2.2
I think there should be a us m16 quad .50 gun carriage and a german 2cm flak 38 with out the shield.

Well, this could be a nice addition

The 3.7CM flak 43. Fairly rare untill the end of World war 2.

I wish there was a rule saying you can't censore signatures so we could see your Firefly.

Move on, there's nothing to see, no tanks have ever been seen in any Forrest.

The back of the turret looks more like a 76mm Sherman, but it's hard to say.

I'm not sure if there were any 76mm shermans in normandy though.  There were certainly fireflys though.  Of course, he might just be being sneaky and usng one of those M4A1s we saw ages ago to trick us.

It's just a regular M4A4. What you guys think is a barrel is actually a tree branch!

As for AA guns, well, we need maps with planes before we need AA guns...

I don't think thats the barrel actually. I think the turret is facing our side, the censored image could then perfectly hide the 17 pounder.

There were, but not abundant.

I think the AA guns need to be redone, damage-wise.  I can't find any detailed information or footage of what a flak38 shell impact looks like, but I have only seen it represented as it is in that one scene from 'Saving Private Ryan' and in other contemporary media. I liked how the damage and projectile was in FH1, which is like in that scene.

The shells have very little, if any, splash damage and they only produce a small displacement of dust/dirt instead of a heavy, black 'ack ack' cloud.

The damage area and splash area of the flak guns in FH2 should be drastically reduced and the shell effect (the thick, black 'ack ack' cloud) needs to be replaced with some other effect like that which is produced by the pzii AP shell.  I want to use my precious flak guns on 'soft targets' without them being massive rape machines which are just point and click and that need to be restricted in their field of view/fire!

Use any, and all means to defeat the enemy. that includes using AA guns in the anti-personnel role.
It is well documented that anti aircraft guns were used against soft targets on the ground by both the allied and the axis powers, so why shouldn't that be reflected in FH2?
