Looks very nice, keep up the good work! Are they compatible with BF2 in terms of polygons and what-not?

Yes,they are "compatible"...
The average polygon number is 1650 and BF2 recommended number for Pistols is 1500.
By the way...isn´t there any skinner interested on any of these models?  ::)

I think the Germans used the M37 to some extent and the others could probably be used as eastereggs or for the Volkssturm.

First one might be used for easter egg and such...
The second one,the Astra 400,was used by Germans,on the same way as the M37.
Not exactly the Astra 400,but a scaled down version in 9mm Parabellum (this one is 9 Largo) called Astra 600
Originally, the M37 is hungarian and the Astra 400 is Spanish

Cool.  The background isn't flattering though, too much contrast I think.  It may be true to life, but the colors of the gun seems kinda...dull.

Good work though.  It really does look nice, I'm just a jackass and need to nitpick at things.

reduce the contrast of the metallayer, highlight all edges with a soft whiteline,(outerglow maybe) add scratches and dents.( the look more deep when you add a soft white light to it. you can reach this by coping the layer and move it 1 pxl down and sidewards. or add a dropshadow in white to reach this. dodge and burn tubes or paint a soft white line on the tubes to make it look round. add a soft white outer glow onthe layer of the holes in the clip so it looks like its deep.

but the biggest problem to have a great texture is the contrast and the outeredges. Good job so far but still. jurgen do it your self. Modelers without texturing skills are worthless. ;) there are billions out there. doing everything is good! not only modeling. ;D

Even have a play with some colours to bring the texture alive, nothing is truely greyscale ;)
