as others said before
still pictures dont make the new effects look as they do while playing, the grain becomes almost not noticeable. on "sunny" light maps you cant see it at all, on darker maps you can see it a bit more.

for me it affected gameplay a little, you can hardly see a guy under a tree in a shadow when he is not moving or firing.
so actual hiding & camouflage (or more like blending in with he terrain) is now much more effective.

besides that the maps just sooooo much better.  when we first tested some africa maps with this, many players didnt even notice the difference towards teh old versions because they haddnt played the maps in a long time.
some side by side pictures made brix be shat.

so dont prejudge the new effects before you have seen them ingame. specially since some of the pictures are quite old and the settings of the new effects are in constant change, depending on feedback to make them the best possible.

as for the snow effects, you will feel your willy shrinking and ballz freezing from the winter cold atmosphere.

edit:
the last pic of jan_kurator is a good example, the grain effect is way less obvious in the current build. that  picture makes it look very bad.

Suggestions / Re: Forgotten Hope 2 for Mac console
« on: 10-06-2011, 13:06:18 »
no idea if BF2 works on macs, and even if it does i still dont know i BF2 MODs can work at all.

if you are using bootcamp or whine or whatever i guess it could work, but i ve never heard of a real BF2 version for mac.

« on: 07-06-2011, 16:06:49 »
try starting fh2 in windowed mode (add "+fullscreen 0"  to the launch command in the fh2.exe shortcut

it then should deliver an error message that you can post here

unless someone here had the same problem and solved it i would advise you to visit the punkbuster forums (http://www.punksbusted.com/forums/index.php?act=home)

and check there if someone can help, this is too specific of a problem that we could help.

Bug Reporting / Re: Wespe/ Gamecrash
« on: 03-06-2011, 15:06:41 »
i think the wespe had some bug that should be ironed out with the upcoming 2.4 release.

mostly the sudden loss of hud (mostly map) was a big problem.

you are able to drive OVER sandbags in a tank.

so you have the choice, make sandbags, small wooden fence etc impenetrable tank barriers or have a little jumpiness.

i prefer the last option.
